We stayed in the Silver Wattle cottage - very nice and spacious. The other cottage is close and the home not far away but all is set up well with privacy in mind. Have stayed in a number of cottages but this is one of the best for having absolutely everything you could need at hand. From bubble bath for... More

So glad you enjoyed your stay. We try to think of everything we would like to find in a cottage if we were going away! The trees, the views and the peacefulness are the special bonuses that nature provides. That's why we love it here. More

Glad we took the time away from the city to stay here for 3 nights. Mountain ash, one of the two cottages available, had everything we needed for our stay including breakfast goodies and wood for the log fire which was greatly appreciated (despite it being February!). The weather wasn't great but that didn't dampen our enjoyment.... even the Lyrebird... More

Thanks for taking the time to write a review and glad you enjoyed your stay. So sorry about the toes - Stewart has now re-positioned the doorstop so we hope no one will experience the same problem in future. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. More

I recently spent two nights here with my boyfriend for his birthday and we loved every minute at Lyrebird. We wished we could have stayed another couple of night to really enjoy the sanctuary, Cook beautiful meals and enjoy them on the private wrap-around balcony overlooking the lawn and bush below. The room was more than comfortable and spacious, extremely... More

Thanks Matilda. It's rare in our busy lives to have space and time for a leisurely breakfast. It's great to hear your story, I believe most of our guests also enjoy a long breakfast surrounded by forest and birdsong. We have a late check out of midday so our guests don't have to hurry away. And when we can, we... More

First experience at a B&B - my partner and I absolutely loved it. We were greeted by one of the owners, Stewart, who was lovely and welcoming. The view from our quaint cottage - "Silver wattle" - was stunning. Breakfast provisions were all accounted for as well as some great extras like hot chocolate and marshmallows. We also chose to... Always glad when someone has enjoyed their stay but even more so when it's the first time in a B&B! It's a great time of the year for lyrebird spotting when the males are singing and displaying, so glad you saw them. Thanks again for your generous words. More

If you're looking to escape from Melbourne for a few days and enjoy the Yarra Valley, Lyrebird cottages is a wonderful way to do it. Clean, comfortable, modern little cottage with stunning views peeking down through the trees. We stayed in Mountain Ash cottage and even though there was another couple in the other cottage, the only time we saw... More

Travelled along a treelined, picturesque road to arrive at a well appointed, super clean cottage. Everything we needed was there to enable us to relax and unwind. Thanks Tessa and Stewart for all the personal, thoughtful touches. Just perfect.

Because we don't want anyone else to know how great this place is! We want these cottages all to ourselves hehe. Seriously though, the experience was perfect! We love how remote this place is, the cottages are just divine and the fresh air can be bottled and sold! Stewart was great during the booking process going out of his way... More

Jesse, really glad you and Simona enjoyed our peaceful mountain and thank for your kind words. Hope the information on our website helped with finding the right places to go to. With the cafes and vineyards just 15 minutes away and all around the valley it's hard to make a choice. More

I was looking for a getaway for my girlfriend and I, and this place is a little gem. After going through many properties I couldn't find the right one that mixed a place that is not too far from the city, in a nice location, is private, offers nice amenities, and affordable. This cottage has a really nice view of... More

My wife and I spent six days at Lyrebird Cottages. We stayed in the Mountain Ash Cottage, and were really pleased with the accommodation. The Mountain Ash Cottage backs onto bush land with glimpses of the Melbourne city skyline. The Cottage provides privacy and plenty of bird and wildlife watching opportunities. We regularly saw lyrebirds, kookaburras, rosellas, wrens, wallabies and... More
