Our group of 10 teenage girls and 2 adults spent a wonderful 10 days at Strathvea Guesthouse. This was a wonderful retreat for the girls who were playing in the Australian Girls Amateur Golf Championships and the Interstate Teams Matches. Thankyou to the lovely owners who made us feel like this was our home. The girls enjoyed feeding the horses... More

My wife and I were warmly welcomed by Toby upon our arrival. We found him to be a warm and gracious host who wore many hats during our stay ... family man, friend, waiter, tour guide, font of historical information and overall a well-traveled and warm human being. The sounds of family life, with its children and laughter were always reassuringly... More

I spent in this place almost two mounts, as woofer and it was the best experience in the whole Australia trip. The envoiroment, where the guesthouse is located is simply amazing. We were completely sorrounded of rainforest and wonderfulll animals. I worked here in exchange of food and accomodation and it was the strangest and most beautifull work experience in... More

I stayed here with my girlfriend from may to august this year. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We worked for our food and digs but it was always chilled out and never felt like hard work because of the fantastic people we were with. On top of that we ate some of the finest organic foods... Well isn't it funny when you've had to ask a person to leave because of their behaviour and attitude, it will come back to bite you. Even if it is ficticional. This man who came to stay barely lifted a finger. His attitude was passive aggressive and reluctant to help out in any way what so ever. So it is... More

What a beautiful house and friendly attentive hosts. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with the cooked breakfast just yummy. Our only complaint is there was so much bird activity during breakfast that it took us until 11 am each day to go and explore the Yarra Valley because we were so engrossed. Toby, Deanne and (Irish staff ) could... More

Strathvea turned out to be even better and more beautiful than the photos online conveyed. We decided to stay an extra day after arriving as it was too nice to leave after only one night. Everything about the experience was relaxing and pleasant. I loved our heritage bedroom with dark wood panel walls and tasteful deco/nouveau era furnishings. The semi... More

The drive up Myers Creek Road is a precursor to the oasis that is Stravthea. We have stayed there previously and enjoyed the country ambience immensely. We will be back in two weeks to experience the exceptional hospitality that Toby and Deanne show to all their guests....really friends! When you have a heritage house like this it is a privilege... Strathvea Guest House in the hills and forests above Healesville is in all respects a great experience. The wonderful and beautifully maintained / restored old guest house is a delight. Deanne and her very friendly and efficient staff really made this a memorable stay. The bedrooms were immaculately presented and the older rooms, the dining room, lounge, library etc just... More
