This motel is a neat & tidy and the rooms are small but cosy it has everything you need. It is in walking distance to the town centre. It's ideal if you have over seas visitors as the back rooms open up onto a wide open space with hundreds of kangaroos and mountains. Happy travels :)

We stayed here for one night. We had lots of walks planned so we didnt stay in the room much. It was comfortable, basic and clean. We had the back cabins, we had great views. Beds were comfortable. Close walk to the main area. We walked past several wild life.. deers, kangaroos, cows. I would recommend this to anyone that... More

My wife and I visit the Grampians at least 3-4 times a year and ever since we found The Kookaburra Lodge we don't stay any where else. It is in a very central but quite part of Halls Gap with easy access to all shops, restaurants and local pool etc. Surrounded by beautiful views and wildlife at the rear of... More

Stayed for one night and we were very happy. Rooms were basic but this was outlined when I booked, however they were comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. We stay in halls gap for a night often and these owners were one of the nicest we have come across. Great location and view. We will be back, many thanks... More

It is an older style motor lodge but still very comfortable. The room is spacious with a very nice view from the back. The owner was away when we visited but his friends who were standing in were extremely helpful and nice! It is also walking distance from a very terrific breakfast/lunch cafe (Livefast) and a restaurant(Quarry - do try... More

With the temperature outside 8 degrees, we were very grateful for the heated blankets and electric heater at Kookaburra Lodge, our overnight stay in the mountains where we were the only guests. The lodge is surrounded by kangaroos and kookaburras and close to the centre making access to shops, cafés and bars a short walk. Fittings and services are quite... More

Basic motel, workable wifi, clean and tidy. The water heater doesn't open up- water goes in the same way it comes out, through the spout. Took me a while to figure it out. Heated sheets. Cosy place for the night while exploring halls gap!

The Kookaburra Motel is a very basic motel unit, nothing fancy but OK. Well located at the back of the main shopping area of Halls Gap. It is quiet & a short walk to the shops. The whole Halls Gap experience could be improved as could the motel.

We stayed as a large group for my father's 60th birthday and were all greeted with friendly smiles on arrival. Rooms and facilities were great and would definitely recommend to friends and family visiting Halls Gap. The BBQ area was great for pre-dinner catch up with family. Rooms were spacious and had everything you need. Quiet location off the Main... More
