Enjoyed Robert's hospitality in pioneer cottage that he built from recycled material on 100 acres. The bedroom under the eaves was cosy with stunning views of the Grampians. The serenity and meditation walk added to the great visit. Highly recommended !!!

kangoroos at the porch, large surroundings, a cosy large cottage with almost everything you need, very friendly reception. take your food with you, if you arrive late, restaurants close early it rained all day, and the room did not get over 16C, despite a large fire place, that we kept running all night.

What a location! Wow. Views 360° Kids could see & hear some zoo animals from the cottage. We loved the history. Cottage had the best shower we have ever had in any accommodation. Beds & layout were good for our family of 5. Staff was lovely even let the kids collect eggs in the morning from henhouse 😊 open fire... More

We have just returned from a blissful 5 night stay at the Pioneer Cottages over the Easter break. We had a wonderful time staying in the Stone Cottage, and there was ample room for my husband and I, our two young sons and grandparents. The property is just amazing! Sixty hectares teeming with native wildlife and the Grampians Zoo next... More

We stayed here at the Red Brick cottage over the Easter break for four nights (April 2015) with our children aged 5, 3, and 11 months, and the grandparents. It was our second stay here. We all enjoyed an absolutely amazing holiday, from the youngest to the oldest. There was more than enough room for the seven of us to... More

We stayed in the stone cottage for 2 nights in late December and had a fantastic time. The peace and quiet was sublime, and the setting was a great way to finish our holiday. The cottage was very well equipped, with all the things you would want in the kitchen, and enough space in between the cottages to have a... More

Originally I was staying at the YHA but a friend decided to join me and booked the Red Brick cottage for two nights - WOW what an experience of a superb place in a fantastic location. The owner Robert is very friendly and helpful and on the first night we had our own 'Hoppers Crossing' as as the sun went... More

The cottage was very big and situated next to the Grampians zoo and situated in the middle of the outback. our 3 bedroom Stone Cottage was perfect and very clean. Aside from that, around 6-7pm, there were many kangaroos roaming around. also with our binoculars we views the animals at the zoo. I say giraffe from far . It's on... More

My husband and I stayed here one night in October 2014. There was a bit of a computer glitch with our booking but Robert sorted it out and we were made very welcome anyway. We stayed in the red brick cottage which was the first of 4 cottages hand built by the owner of the property, out of predominantly recycled... More
