A very good park full of australian faune. You can play with parrots (yes they come eat in your hand!!). Close to the mountain, and the halls gap's "city center". The owners are very nice. A very great time.

After spending 2 weeks travelling around Victoria staying at numerous holiday resorts, Takaru bush resort (new name is Halls Gap Lakeside Tourist Park) was by far the nicest place we stayed at. The cabin and grounds where very tidy and spacious. Our cabin was well equipped with TV, DVD Player, fully stocked kitchen and lovely double bed with ensuite bathroom.... More

We had a great time in Takaru. We had a powered site. It was very quiet. There is a family bathroom to bath children. The kitchen and the "living room" is basic but fine and has some charm with a fire. But the show-stopper are definitely the kungaroos and emus !!! Just wonderful !!!

We have stayed here twice now, the last time in November 2012. Both times management have spoiled our stay due to their incompetence and grumpiness. My wife and I stayed here with our two small children and we love the location. The facilities are okay but Management leave a lot to be desired. We couldn't get out through the boom... More

We stayed at this caravan park in January for 3 nights as part of our road trip from Melbourne home to Perth. There were some good things about this park - great place for the kite flying and the badminton playing. Good visit from the Halls Gap zoo guy. Nice wildlife around. However, the pool is tiny, on a hot... More

My husband and I camped at Takaru after not being able to get a site at the Big4 in town. The amenities are not the most modern but they were clean and adequate and the staff we met seemed friendly and helpful. The site we were allocated was large and quiet, we experienced quite a bit of ran but the... More

I want to write a balanced review of our experience of Easter 2011. On arrival at Takaru we notice the office window was broken. It should have been a warning sign. The camping site we were allocated was fine ,if a little on the small side. The amenities near us consisted of a shower \toilet block and a multipurpose bbq... More

The previous managers have moved on and the new ones are fabulous!! The cleaning and maintenance has improved and the managers and new staff are extremely pleasant. My girls loved the bike hire, the pool was a little cold though. This is a relaxing park to visit with the wildlife always around.

This was our 3rd time staying in this caravan park, and as per our previous visits we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The kids had a great time feeding all the birds and watching the kangaroos. Very friendly Managers who like to catch up for a chat. The fires make the nights that much better too!!

great sites, lots off trees a good family park. Plenty of native animals strolling around the park. Camp fires are a great touch.
