We stayed at the BVI for one night. Our room was comfortable and breakfast good. But unfortunately the general cleanliness in the bathroom left a lot to be desired. Not sure if any management spots checks were ever carried out but this certainly put a damper on our stay. The breakfast menu offered fresh fruit but none was on the... More

Stayed the night after a nearby party and woke up to find the entire hotel still locked up. When the restaurant was finally opened for breakfast, late, the waitress was so charmless and grumpy. Won't be returning in a hurry.

Lovely bar area and setting. The room (room 3) was disappointingly small (just enough space to squeeze past the bed) and was certainly not a king-sized bed as advertised. There was also only one bath robe and one chair which seemed to imply single occupancy. We ate in the restaurant that night. One meal (pie) very good and one not... More

In a very quiet location, rooms are adjacent to gastro pub so very convenient for a naughty night of drinking/dining in the pub. Clean rooms, though average in size...they serve an excellent full english breakfast, overall a good place to stay, have been a few times now and will be going back again. Some privacy curtains in downstair room windows... More

We only stayed here one night so honestly cannot say anything concerning atmosphere or daytime/evening food. We came back from a wedding at around 10pm and the bar was quite empty, we had one round of drinks (neat double vodka with ice, single vodka lime and soda and a beer this came to just under £20, but this is not... A friend and I had an impromptu lunch and a few beers. We both had the freshly battered haddock and chips which was very good. At £12.50 it was reasonable value. The garden is very pleasant in the sunshine and it was easy to convince ourselves to have an extra beer or two. The staff were very good, friendly welcome... More

Thank you so much for your review of the Bourne Valley Inn. I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your relaxing lunch with us in the sunshine. We serve 3 ales in house, Upham Sprinter, Doombar and Ringwood Fortyniner. As well as Amstel, Heineken and Orchard pig cider on draught, so I can see why it was so... More

Traveling into UK from Stavanger needed a room for the night at short notice, checked on line and the Bourne Inn was listed about 4 down, the price was within my company budget and the location ideal as I needed to be back in LHR the following morning for an onward flight but did not want to stay in the... Charming, professional and helpful staff, excellent food, very pleasant room and stunning location. Staying at the BVI was an absolute treat, and with immediate access to walks in fields and woods, without even crossing, a road the dog loved it too.

In general we had a good stay and this inn has great potential - a little attention to detail will make this a great inn. The best thing going for the BVI is the location - we found this little village to be one of the most beautiful villages we have ever visited. The stream, lake, cottages, and village church... More
