We stayed for 3 nights midweek in the middle of August. Reservation was easy but prepayment was required. Location Not too far from the Falls Express Chairlift. It was a nice walk downhill from the lodge. The free shuttle’s stop is almost at the front door. No noisy pubs or bar in close proximity, thus, it was quiet. Check-In Was... More

Our stay at the Astra was a fantastic holiday experience and it was all that we hoped for and more. The quality of the venue was sensational and the amenities were of a very high standard. The hotel has an awesome restaurant, brilliant cocktail bar, wonderful lounge area with a warming open fire, excellent pool and spa and extremely comfortable... More

Some would say you are mad to do a ski trip with a 3 month old but with the help of Astra's staff and falls creek day care this was possible! We enjoyed some great, albeit last minute snow for a few days. I must admit there was some trepidation in bringing a potentially screaming infant into such a nice,... More

The Astra Lodge has it all. A more up-market establishment with a nice feel and ambiance. The restaurant is excellent as is the service and wide variety of wines are available from varied regions both in Australia and also Spain, France, NZ. Probably my favourite times at the Astra are frequenting the Lounge Bar. Here you can sit with friends... More

The Astra is a well appointed, slightly high-end lodge on Falls Creek Mountain. The staff there made all the difference as they were lovely, friendly and they care about the snow conditions! The double-bedroom was suited for my son (10) and myself, the drying room and room for skis was logically placed and certainly big enough for gear, the jacuzzi... More

The service it's outstanding for Australian standards. Everyone were very professional, friendly and helpful. The drinks at the bar were great, the food was amazing. Hitting the hot spa after a day on the mountain was bliss, then chilling at the lounge by the fireplace ahhh. Love it!

Stayed at Astra with 5 other couples in early August. Had the Penthouse Deluxe which accommodated all of us more than comfortably, beautiful view, great self-contained kitchen and well-appointed rooms and ensuites. Pool and spa area well-maintained, really appreciated it after a hard day on the slopes! Grochowski family (owners) looked after us really well, including shouting us a round... More

We spent there nights at the Astra during the ski season. It is very modern, has great facilities and the staff are very friendly. It is well situated in the village and you can ski in and ski out. We will stay there again!

We had a really nice stay. Having stayed at the Lodge previously we did immediately notice that things were generally looking a bit tired and in need of some cosmetic rejuvenation. Despite this the staff were very friendly and offer fantastic service. All the services at the Lodge were in good working order (ie pool and spa) and general cleanliness... More

No longer a tapas bar, Astra is now an excellent restaurant coupled with a well stocked cocktail bar. The food is of a very high quality - a standout for me on a recent visit was a melt in the mouth confit lamb - but be prepared for snowline prices. You won't see much change out of $40 for a... More
