Antiques everywhere give a beautifully authentic feeling to a step back in time. From the magnificent bear umbrella stand in the entrance hall to the dolls that dot each room. Bives you a feel of a era gone by. the relaxed feel to the living area with a roaring fire to keep you warm. the breakfast is divine, served in... More

Very close to the town centre (about three minute walk), a very good breakfast, beautifully cooked to order, and well presented. Lyn & Tony make sure that your stay is a memorable event – they live in a unit at the back and the main house is given over to four en-suit bedrooms, a dining room and sitting room. The... More

We stopped in Beechworth to break up our drive from Sydney to Melbourne. We stayed at The Rose Cottage for one night and found the accommodation quaint but very comfortable. Our room and ensuite were spotless and there was port and chocolates for us to enjoy in our private garden sitting area. The breakfast was fantastic - juice, fruit, cereal,... More

we stayed here this week. It was very pleasant. The room was large and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and the location close to town was perfect. All in all a lovely stay. Would do it again. Price was good

We wanted to break up the drive between Sydney and Melbourne and called in at Beechworth. Walking through the town we found this beautiful garden and house with B&B sign. Amazed when we walked into Rose Cottage. Built in the 1870s it contains an amazing collection of antiques and bits and pieces but still manages to be extremely comfortable. Beds... More

We stayed at the lovely Rose Cottage for only one night. In the evening, we used the guest sitting room with wood burning heater while reading some of the great books. It was also very interesting to look through some of the many signed guest visitor books and dozens of cards dating back to early 1986... What a plethora of... More

My partner & I had a very enjoyable long weekend stay here. Our room was very spacious and having the spa bath was a real treat. Yes the decor is over the top but we thought it was fun and different! The bed was super comfy and the room was warm which we appreciated as it was a cold weekend.... More

We stayed for two nights at this B & B in the delightful town of a Beechworth. Although the website gives you some idea of what to expect the amount of "stuff" that covers absolutely every spare space of wall and any other surface has to be seen to be believed. Once you get past this overwhelming sensory overload you... More

I have been visiting Beechworth for many years and The Rose Cottage is my absolute favourite place to stay. This is an historic property and the decor and trappings are true Victoriana, which adds to a sense of literally stepping back in time. This fussy and fun kaleidoscope of color may not be to everyone's taste, but there is plenty... More

Rose Cottage was certainly comfortable, well positioned close to town (but still quiet!), & the breakfast was good. However, it's decor is kitschy, so be prepared for excessive Victoriana. Also, don't expect a sleep-in, as breaky is served strictly between 7.30am - 8.30am. These are not criticisms, but it may not suit everyone. Our host was very welcoming !
