We had a one night stay (we saw Elton John in Geelong, he was brilliant) in a private room with an ensuite and it was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again and next time, would like more time to explore the surf beach and the interesting local shops.

A lovely place to stay whilst in Anglesea! The backpackers is very homely, with the use of free wifi, a tv, a fully functional kitchen, free bike hire and a nice outdoor decking. It is in within 10 minute walking distance of the shops and the beach. The ladies who run the hostel are absolutely amazing. They make you feel... More

This backpackers hoster is very expensive for what it has to offer. Tiny room for 6 people with very thin foam pads, you can perfectly feel the slatted base underneath. The bathroom wasn't great either. Staff was friendly

This is a tiny little backpackers tucked away in a residential area, but within walking distance to beach, shops, pub, etc. The set up is like an extension of the owners' house, so offers a homely, quiet atmosphere in communal living area and kitchen. Staff are very relaxed, friendly, hospitable and keen to make you feel welcome and offer info... More

We stop in this backpacker during our trip along the great ocean road. The first thought i have when we arrived, was it's a little hostel. There are only 2 dormitory, and 10 people can spend their night in this place. So not a big structure as we can imagine when we talk about backpackers. People are really nice (dogs... More

i spent there a couple of nights with some friends. The owner, a lady with her 3 dogs, was really nice and friendly. The room and the common areas were nice and comfortable. Short distance to the beach, shops and the golf club where it's possible to see a lot of kangaroos!

No heating on a cool evening and you have to pay more if you want the fire lit! The ensuite room is tiny. The tv didn't work. The light breakfast offered was actually instant coffee, teabags and sugar,no milk or food!! The only things plentiful were the signs, rules cleanliness and price. You have to vacate during the daytime even... More

Would be good if you didn't mind about sleeping comfort, as the mattress's weren't as comfortable as the wood they were on. Overall tidy, but accommodation did not match the price. We stayed just down the road at another backpackers, which was half the price, three times the quality!!

Angelsea backpackers is definitely small and quaint. The one bathroom, makes the mornings very hectic so be prepared to lineup if you want a shower. If you want a good nights sleep you won`t get it here with the common room being right outside of the 2 bedrooms. The weekend of our stay had the hostel hosting some very strange... More
