We stayed at the Hughenden for 1 night as we were attending a function in Centenial Park. The room was one of the smallest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, with care having to be taken when passing each other on the way to the bathroom. On the plus side, the rooms are clean and bed comfortable. Modern ensuite... More

Thank you for your review. As with most hotels, we have a range of room sizes available, including cosy rooms, standard rooms, standard plus rooms, deluxe rooms and family rooms. The “cosy room” that you chose to stay in is our smallest (and cheapest) room. We usually recommend the much larger “standard”, “standard plus” or “deluxe” rooms for stays that... More

My partner and I have stayed here 3 times now. This hotel grows on you. Rooms are pretty small, some VERY small, but if you can put up with that, is quite a pleasant place to stay, and is dog friendly. Staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast (which is included in the price) is great.....don`t need to eat lunch after... More

We stayed there for the weekend. The room was advertised as basic but it should be called minimum. It was clean but, there was a mouldy black spot on the ceiling, not a big deal, and it was way too small and dark. The first night a false alarm took us out of bed, no apologies no further explanation, the... More

I spent 2 weeks in April at the Hughenden on the advice of a friend who'd walked past a few times. Good call! The rooms are charming - loads of character, they aren't massive but they have everything you need and really well presented. The staff were the real gems though - always helpful, friendly and engaging - a real... More

My husband and I booked this online because when we travel, we like to stay out of the CBD areas, but close enough that we can get there without too uch trouble. The location of this place was perfect. There were lots of things that we loved at this hotel. The staff were great and couldn't do enough for us... More

I booked this hotel through Wotif, which advertised it as a four star hotel booking. Not sure if it's the fault of the hotel or Wotif but the room I got would be very much 3 star. It's in a lovely old building & a very convenient area. The room, little bathroom & bedding were clean but the bare minimum.... More

This was my third time staying at the Hughenden, as it is so convenient to my son's apartment in Paddington. The hotel's renovations have greatly improved the guest rooms since my visit two years ago, and we were delighted to have the breakfast buffet in the front dining area once again. (They also serve dinner there, which looks to be... More

From the unhappy welcome on check in to the drilling, knocking and banging of the workman in the corridors and the change of grease trap this place should be avoided. Great location there's no doubt, but rooms tiny, no air con, getting in and out of small car park hazardous, really unfriendly staff (except for the charming Brazillian girl). If... More

We were recommended the Hughenden for work, and it was just delightful! The staff were so accommodating, friendly and welcoming, as soon as we walked through the doors we were welcomed by personable and warm staff, even though we were much later than we expected. The staff even helped us make a late dinner reservation as we had had a... More
