Girls weekend getaway couldn't have been better. The room was clean and quiet for sleeping in. Love the sundeck. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly especially at breakfast time. It really made our stay relaxing. We are planning another girls weekend away as soon as we can organise MORE friends. So much more to do around the... More

Overall the experience was okay to good. There are some wonderful things about the hotel - the quirky drawings and paintings, the fact that no two rooms seem to be the same, most of the staff are lovely and it has an amazingly good restaurant attached. The whole place appears welcoming, warm and inviting. However, there are some areas that... More

So I was staying here for the weekend to attend a nearby wedding. Full disclosure, older boutique hotels aren't really my jam. Anything which is older than 15 years should just be set on fire and rebuilt. The plus sides for this place: - Awesome location right near Centennial Park (Be careful trying to cross this at night after 500... More

I often stay with my cousin in the area, but she had other guests and she suggested the Hughenden. The room I booked, was labelled "cosy" which is clearly a better marketing name to appeal to the slightly claustrophobic than "closet". There was just enough room to navigate around what turned out to be a thin and uncomfortable bed, to... More

It was difficult opening the door and stand there trying to get out as so close to bed. I was glad I didn't need to swing a cat. Very noisy room at night as right on a major intersection. Took forever for hot water to get to you but bathroom was very clean. The staff seemed lovely and helpful.

We are a hotel with a variety of rooms that suit different travellers and different price points. Our room categories range from ‘cosy room’ to ‘deluxe suite’. If size is important to you, don’t book the cheapest ‘cosy room’ room, and then complain it is too small. Not sure what else I can say about that. More

We stayed for two nights mid-week. The hotel is well situated for the Woolhara, Paddington area and has easy access by public transport to the city. The room was comfortable, though lacking in hanging space if you were staying longer. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was fine, though for the life of me why you have... We stayed at the Hughenden for 1 night as we were attending a function in Centenial Park. The room was one of the smallest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in, with care having to be taken when passing each other on the way to the bathroom. On the plus side, the rooms are clean and bed comfortable. Modern ensuite... More

We are glad that you enjoyed our recently renovated bathrooms, buffet breakfast and friendly staff. Like all hotels, we have a range of room sizes. We have a handful of “cosy rooms” which are the smallest (and cheapest) room category. As the name suggests, they are cosy and don’t suit all travellers. Next time you stay, please book a larger... Thank you for your review. As with most hotels, we have a range of room sizes available, including cosy rooms, standard rooms, standard plus rooms, deluxe rooms and family rooms. The “cosy room” that you chose to stay in is our smallest (and cheapest) room. We usually recommend the much larger “standard”, “standard plus” or “deluxe” rooms for stays that... More

My partner and I have stayed here 3 times now. This hotel grows on you. Rooms are pretty small, some VERY small, but if you can put up with that, is quite a pleasant place to stay, and is dog friendly. Staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast (which is included in the price) is great.....don`t need to eat lunch after... More

We stayed there for the weekend. The room was advertised as basic but it should be called minimum. It was clean but, there was a mouldy black spot on the ceiling, not a big deal, and it was way too small and dark. The first night a false alarm took us out of bed, no apologies no further explanation, the... More
