Just back from San Pancho. We rented a house across the street and were looking forward to the convenience of Wahoo's and what looked like a great beach bar. Alas! "Closed for renovations" read the sign. Furniture gone, pool emptied and a lone security guard on patrol. No activity at all for the 2 weeks we were there but I... More

When we walked the first time in for Margaritas (very good) and good food we thought we found a new gem ! So we returned and the waiter and service was excellent. After some visits we even considered a stay in the hotel. We asked to see a room but after a closer look we only saw broken down equipment... More

We found the best pico de gallo and quacamole in Mexico at Costa Azul! It was muy delicioso after a surf sess at San Pancho. While playing volleyball in the pool, one of the workers shimmied up a coconut tree, cut one down and set it up w/ a straw for a swim-up pool side bar delight. The beach out... More

Just the facts you can decide for yourself: During our stay the restaurant roof had to be covered with a giant black tarp to prevent the rain from coming in on our dinner table and old broken flimsy chairs. Every and I mean every poolside deck chaise lounge was cracked, broken or missing whole chunks of plastic. My son cut... More

I stayed at the Costa Azul back in 1997 and I got a kick out of seeing some of these reviews!it appears that not much has changed. We still laugh today and call the place the "adveturless resort" w/broken down equipment and no real activity unless you deive fae away. The place touted itself as having all kinds of sports and activities... You can place me in the "whiner" column, but I suspect most people booking time at a "resort" expect the toilets to flush. Our toilet did not (room 109) so we used the common restroom on the property with only slightly better results. We had intially booked two rooms for three guys, but upon arrival we asked if we could... More

Dear BigWonderful, We are sorry Costa Azul was not the right fit for you and your guy friends. Our rooms are set up to accommodate two adults and with three men in a room that’s not a real comfortable way to spend a vacation. Our loyal guests understand that Costa Azul is more than a location; it is the concept... More

This was our second visit to Costa Azul. We visited last year in March and at the same time again this year. But we won’t be going back again. The pro's - A great location. The town of San Pancho is wonderful. There are no hawkers constantly hassling you to buy touristy kitsch on the beach and there are great... More

We have stayed here 3 different times as well as many other places all over Mexico mainland and Baja. We find Costa Azul to be a very relaxing and true Mexican Hotel experience. No, the linens aren't new, it could use a little paint here and there and maybe some updating...So go some place else and the pay big bucks,... More

It was very obvious to us that this resort was in trouble. Our first few hours there we were wondering what we had got ourselves into. The resort is very tired and run down. But it didn't take us long to overlook the not so good things and focus on the good. The pool is fantastic. The beach is the... More

Wow! Costa Azul was the best 4 days of your 17 day vacation – that’s the best kind of compliment we love to receive. The resort has not been sold but we are looking to replace the investor’s in the property – not the business or brand. They made big promises to invest in the facility and did not live... More
