The hotel itself is lovingly maintained and the impression you get is more staying in a beautiful country house rather than an hotel. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and we... more

We stayed at this hotel in the quiet couple of days between Christmas and New Year. We booked with a special offer we found in the paper where you stay free but pay for dinner (and breakfast). I've heard about this hotel from some guidebooks and wanted to visit for ourselves. It was a bitterly cold few days outside and... more

My second stay in this lovely, beautifully run hotel - and every bit as good as the first. It is really exceptional - comfortable, intimate, welcoming, great food - everything a really good hotel should be. more

At present I have not stayed at this hotel, just visited on numerous occasions over the last few years to dine. We visited today for Sunday lunch with our 6 year old and 5 month old baby. What a beautiful hotel - a real treasure in so many ways. Just to name a few.....the staff, the building, the food, the welcome, the atmosphere, the winelist, the bedroom, the bathroom, the view. We were only staying for one night, as a treat for me after a hectic two weeks of work in South Wales, but we managed to... more

The Egerton Grey has it all, fabulous food, beautiful rooms, amazing location and Richard and Huw are the best hosts you could ask for. I live quite locally, but started using this hotel for early airport starts. We love it so much that now we book in for the night before departure even if we have a late pm flight!!... more

This review relates to two visits (May & August) to the Egerton Grey made by my wife and myself to celebrate special occasions this year. If you are looking for a large souless hotel full of chrome, mirrors and halogen lights the Egerton is not for you. What you'll get at the Egerton is a most wonderfully maintained and furnished... more
