We visited Barry for a weekend away and my boyfriend had chosen Aberthaw House Hotel from its good reviews. Our experience was just as positive - the service was very friendly, the room and ensuite spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. The full English breakfast was unremarkable but tasty.

I stayed at the Aberthaw for two nights in a double room. Staff very friendly and helpful, charming Victorian town house with bar and restaurant. My room was a good size with nice view over Barry and to the sea. Everything in the room very presentable if not a little dated, bed very comfortable and warm. Breakfast was excellent with... More

Ideal location with Barry train station 2 mins walk away. Great value for money! Would definately stay here again and reccommend to others. Thanks for a lovely stay!

My sister and I traveled from America to meet our Barry relatives for the first time ever. Our cousin in Barry recommended the Aberthaw House and I am so glad he did (and that we listened!). Our room was comfy, clean, and cozy - on the top floor but worth the steps. We loved the atmospheric intimate little bar, where... More

My travelling buddy and I stayed here last year. It was so enjoyable we decided to repeat the experience. I am so glad we did! We could not have felt more welcome, just like returning to the home of a favourite family member. Within minutes of arrival we had a reviving drink in hand and the feeling that we were... More

Accomodation was £65 for a double en-suite room which was very comfortable although beginning to look in need of a bit of a face lift. Breakfast was also included in the price and was absolutely amazing - the full works welsh breakfast and as much tea/coffee as we wanted. Really warm and friendly hosts and staff, would definately stay again... More

I booked the Aberthaw after reading the reviews on here. If you want clean rooms, bed linen that smells fresh as a daisy, nothing to be too much trouble, then this is the place to stay! Oh, and i should mention the breakfast ... Homemade jam and marmalade, pretty much anything you want cooked, including a 'full Welsh' but not... More

I won't lie to you, staying at the Aberthaw was the best decision I could have made. We arrived in the Island really early as we left in the middle of night to avoid the traffic, after a cappuccino at Marcos (legendary) we found the Aberthaw, I popped in to let them know we were here and to say that...
