It's one of the nicest B&Bs I've visited. It's beautifully set amongst a walled garden with slopes rising gently behind the house. There are some rare breed sheep and two alpacas in the field in front of the house and when we arrived a buzzard flew passed the car. The owners were great hosts and produced a very tasty breakfast... More

Stumbling off Offa's Dyke parched, late and exhausted we were greeted at the door by John and Paul offering us iced water on a tray and welcoming them into their home. If it were not a living and breathing home with all necessary mod cons (wi fi, electricity, heating etc) it would be possible to belive that you had stepped... More

Although our stay was a short two nights, it felt like the clock (kindly) stood still for us at The Old Vicarage while we enjoyed the gorgeous gardens, the unparalleled hospitality and conversations with Paul and John, savored the scrumptious breakfasts, and slept in pure comfort. It felt like a world away from busy London and couldn't have been a... More

We had the opportunity to stay again at the Old Vicarage. Barkey and the Girls (Lillie and Florence?), were a new fabulous addition - 3 of the biggest and friendlies pigs I've ever seen. Also a an apple, berry, and medlar orchard located in paradise!!! John and Paul were their usual charming selves - great hosts!

The hosts Paul and John are the best you could ever wish for, their attention to detail is first class, the hospitality is second to none. The meals prepared by Paul and served by John were Michilan Star Quality, the wine also of very good quality. If you try it you will not be disappointed, in fact you will be... More

Our second stay at the Old Vicarage and the only criticism I can level is that it was far too long between visits - that of course is wholly our own fault. This time we were a party of six - family & friends, one of whom was celebrating his birthday. John & Paul could not have made us more... More

A winter weekend spent in this wonderful Victorian home where the attention to detail is second to none!! A roaring log fire, scones and tea greeted us on our return from walking Offa's Dyke. Paul is a superb chef and uses best quality local produce, the wine cellar has an excellent selection too! Thoroughly enjoyed a restful few days and... More

We stopped off on our way to Anglesey, if only we'd had more time we'd have loved to stay longer. The house has been restored so beautifully, it was faultless, and so clean (I truly believed we were the first occupants of the shower). We stayed as two couples and had the house to ourselves (a mid week off season... More

We stayed at The Old Vicarage a couple of years ago with our friends. The service, decor and food was amazing. It was great to see what a wonderful restoration job the guys have done to the place. We arrived to afternoon tea and had a wonderful meal cooked in house with exquisite service. Breakfast was another treat. We spent... More

We had a wonderful 2-night stay in September in this excellent Victorian style house. Paul and John are very hospitable hosts and made us very welcome. On arrival we had tea in the Drawing Room with delicious homemade scones. Paul is a trained chef and the second night we stayed we had a fabulous dinner cooked with locally sourced ingredients,...
