We stayed for one night. Lovely hotel with an old fashioned welcoming atmosphere. We took the option of booking dinner, bed and breakfast. The dinner was excellent, good selection of typical Welsh food, most of the meat and fish sourced locally. The room was nice, don't expect a modern perfect bathroom, it is an old property, but we had an... More

We spent 1 night in this hotel during our winter trip around Wales. Cosy hotel in the town center. Distinctive decor, even if aged, as the whole hotel. Bear in mind that there is a very bad phone network, and WiFi is available and free but only in the lounge. Surprisingly good the restaurant, very characteristic with tables close to... More

I last stayed at, and reviewed, this hotel in July last year and it's as good as ever. The staff are brilliant, they can't do enough for you and are always friendly but not in an obsequious way. The room, which had the big 4 poster bed, was very comfortable, lovely clean white bedding and beautiful big towels. Tea, coffee, drinking... More

Nice hotel with plenty of character - even if the rooms are slightly out dated. A make or problem for me was the town clock (100m away) keeping me awake by chiming every 15 minutes throughout the night. There are also some rooms with no Wifi coverage.

This is a very family friendly hotel with comfortable rooms and a good bar area with a small dining room. The menu was well populated with good choice of food and the food was excellant. The breakfast room is large and can be used fro wedding parties etc. The breakfast was good but lacked a little bit of polish like... More

As another reviewer commented....quirky My wife and I love the atmosphere A bit shabby ..certainly,but warm and comfortable with pleasant friendly service which was informal ...we like it that way The room was a bit warn but the bed was comfortable with a large bathroom ,a huge bath and lashings of hot water. After our meal we dissolved into a... More

Stayed at the Wynnstay for one night with friends. The hotel was cosy, comfortable and friendly. The bar had a lovely atmosphere and we hogged the sofas! We had a good evening meal with lots of local produce on the menu and nice service. The rooms were clean and warm. We would stay there again.

Back again and its still good. Bedroom comfortable. Food lovely. If I were to have a grumble it would only be because the Wi-Fi didn't reach my room (35) but not a disaster! Will certainly use it again.

With a group of friends I enjoyed a couple of night's stay at the Wynnstay and on reflection cannot see why I should not give this a five star rating The downside first - Have to agree with others' comments that the hotel is now charmingly dated and begs a mega update / refurbishment of 20 plus rooms Hate to... We stayed here as my good friend, who lives locally, was getting married. We have a dog, so we were in a room designated for this. The room was a bit dated, but as we had the dog, we did not expect to be in a pristine room, though i think the odd stain in the carpet could have been... More
