The Wynnstay provided comfortable bed and very good food, good value for money and the room facilities bathroom TV etc were fine. Staff were very helpful and pleasant - both at reception and in the restaurant. Meals well cooked and presented (I recommend the plum meringue!).The building has character and although in reasonable condition, could benefit from some cosmetic redecoration... More

Loved this little hotel, filled with cosy charm and smiling staff. Situated central in the town so a great meeting point. Receptionists were very helpful, and the locals that litter the bar area are charming, particularly one older gentleman who was very talkative and filled with local wisdom.

My wife and I needed an evening meal one day in August 2014. We were recommended the Wynnstay and, to be fair, had an excellent meal at a reasonable price. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the belly pork, which was well presented. Restaurant service was friendly and unhurried but I had to search for someone in... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in what we found to be a very pleasant and friendly hotel in mid-Wales. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home straight away and found the staff to be most helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The food was excellent and we used the restaurant on 2 nights where the menu... More

Dear Guest Thank you very much for taking the time and trouble to review our hotel in such a positive way, it is very much appreciated by us all. The Pizzeria is, I agree, quite an unusual find in a small Welsh market town, and was instigated by the previous proprietors, fervent Italophiles, as something unique to the area (we... More

I walked the Glyndwr Way and had a great stay at this hotel - the staff were great, my room was pretty comfortable and had wifi access and a super breakfast. A small complaint, I was in a room at the top of a set of stairs, and it was quite noisy as people came home during the night (though... More

We have just had an overnight stay and can't recommend enough to all you dog lovers out there. We booked at the last minute and had our West Highland Terrier with us and we were made very welcome indeed. We booked a table in the hotel for dinner and they laid a table for us in the bar so that... More

Four poster bed very comfy. Tv tiny and too far from bed. Really old fashion decor, shower (can I call it a shower?) fell from holder on my head, hardly no water coming from it anyways. Chip in bath. Towels were nice though. Onlooking the very noisy Main Street and that bloomin street clock chimes all night!!!!! Floors feel as... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time and trouble to review our hotel, we are truly sorry if we did not meet your expectations on this occasion, and I further apologize for the lateness of my reply. In an old building such as ours, there are inevitably a few architectural 'features' which are not always to everyone's liking, whilst... More

In the defence of the Wynnstay that we have used on many occasions it is an old coaching house and noise and uneven floorboards just happen. Suggest stick to a formulaic box in future and you will not be disappointed. The building is old and has character. This comes at a price and unless you are prepared to pay Chewton... More

We stayed for one night. Lovely hotel with an old fashioned welcoming atmosphere. We took the option of booking dinner, bed and breakfast. The dinner was excellent, good selection of typical Welsh food, most of the meat and fish sourced locally. The room was nice, don't expect a modern perfect bathroom, it is an old property, but we had an... More

We spent 1 night in this hotel during our winter trip around Wales. Cosy hotel in the town center. Distinctive decor, even if aged, as the whole hotel. Bear in mind that there is a very bad phone network, and WiFi is available and free but only in the lounge. Surprisingly good the restaurant, very characteristic with tables close to... More
