Stayed here last weekend to visit family close by. Would recommened this place to all very clean and gareth the owner went very much out of his way to ensure our stay was one that we would remember. The children thouroughly enjoyed playing on the large garden availiable when the weather was nice :) and our family were welcome back... More

We were walking Glyndwr's Way, so we stayed at 10 B&Bs along the way, and as we reviewed them this is the one we enjoyed least. The room was clean and had an exceptional number of cushions! There was a TV with freeview channels. The ensuite was a little aged. Breakfast was in a rather crowded room and both the... More

I have stayed twice now at the Maenllwyd and have no qualms in recommending it to others. The rooms are clean and well equipped, the breakfast is great and Gareth is a friendly host. The hotel is located at the end of the main shopping street and about a 5 minute walk from the famous clock tower. It has ample... More

Count on Gareth to treat you right. Reasonably priced, clean, well-located. Only regret was not being able to stay for breakfast, due to our schedule. I screwed up our arrival date by one day and took Gareth by surprise-- but, no worries, he adapted and got us the rooms we needed without any fuss at all. So very accommodating. Easy... More

On travelling through Machynlleth on a horrible winter evening in December, coming back from a family function in West Wales, we popped into a garage and asked if there were any guest houses that were recommendable. Maenllwyd Guest house was the place mentioned, so after taking directions, we went to check it out. My family and me were more than... More

Having been advised by Gareth in Sept that he was holding a beer festival in November that we may be interested in, my partner confirmed a double room booking for the Saturday. Arrived around 2.00pm and waited for 15 mins but nobody showed up. Wandered down to beer festival to check it out and returned around 4.30pm to the B... More

A we stated previously we always intended on returning here, however this visit was unintentional. We had booked to stay locally at a caravan site with our kids, however due to the terrible standards of the caravans we refused to stay. Rather than deny our kids the weekend away we decided to try Maenllwyd (our previous visit was without the... More

Maenllwyd is 5 minutes walk from the town centre and is a decent place to spend the night, with plenty of parking space for the car. Our room (number 1) was a good size, clean and comfortable with ensuite bathroom. The B&B felt a little tired in places (the shower could do with an upgrade, as could the general decor)... More
