Stayed for one night on a photo trip. Michael and Daphne were charming and helpful. The room was spacious with very good en suite facilities and fluffy towels. It was immaculately clean with a good selection of toiletries and 2 bottles of free mineral water which is rare. Breakfast was great eaten communally downstairs with a lovely family from Boston.... Just returned from 3 days touring around Lake Vyrnwy where we stayed at The Oaks guest House. We were greeted like friends and looked after like family. Both Daphne and Michael were charming and very knowledgeable on the area and surrounding countryside. Our room was spotless, we had private facilities with lovely dressing gowns and many extra toiletries for our... More

Michael and Daphne cared for us well on our one night stop while walking Glyndwr’s Way. Our wet boots were put in the boiler room to dry off and Michael drove us to our supper venue which was most kind. Our room was spotless and comfortable with plenty of supplies of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Masses of hot... More

Lake vyrnwy A delightful place with views to die for enhanced by the perfect facilities of the oaks. The warm welcome and the feel that nothing was too much trouble from hosts Michael and Daphne. Everything that you could need from a super comfortable bed to an amazing bathroom that anyone would be proud of complete with complimentary toiletries, fluffy... More

After having visited Lake Vyrnwy every year for 15 years of my childhood during my holidays in Welshpool I was more than excited to come back here and actually stay overnight at the stunning lake! The lake was, indeed, as stunning as ever and the accommodation at The Oaks was sublime. We were very warmly welcomed by Michael and Daphne... More

Michael & Daphne provide a very comfortable B&B and offer a warm welcome. I slept soundly and comfortably and it was like a home away from home. A wonderful location for walking (although it was a little wet). The breakfast was comprehensive, cooked to perfection with lovely fresh eggs. I had a double room to myself and was charged a... The rooms are comfy, the breakfasts delicious, and the setting is beautiful. It's the little details that make this an exceptional place to stay - from the variety of breakfast options to the weather print-outs each morning. Highly recommended.

Very beautiful environment surrounding the B&B area. Good location and adequate parking. Moderately sized room with bathrooms near-by. Clean and nice, but the house is a bit dated. Beds were somewhat uncomfortable, nonetheless we slept well. The breakfast was good but needs to be pre-specified the night before Landlord was friendly, but although his lady was around she never bothered... More

We had two nights at the Oaks during our Glyndwr Way walk and thoroughly enjoyed them. From the moment Michael picked us up there was a warmth and welcome that made you feel at home. The room was good as was the adjacent bathroom, and of course you are in a wonderful setting just next to Lake Vyrnwy. The room... More

We have stayed at the Oaks several times over the last 5 years, the most recent was for 3 nights at the end of July/early August. We find this B&B consistently good, wonderful and welcoming hosts, clean, light airy rooms, ours was a roomy double with ensuite shower room, (and the shower works well!!) plenty of room and front door...
