My family and I came to Llanfyllin for a music festival. My wife is NOT the camping type so we booked a room at The Cain Valley hotel. We were given room 11 at the top floor, very spacious room with a double and two single beds, plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 kids. Originally a coach inn... More

I was trekking Wales what stunning views and after a long day Wow! From walking in until leaving next morning made very welcome, great room and food staff A1. The whole atmosphere reflected the hotel, strangers taking to each other, smiles from the staff were shared by all, there are places other than the hotel to eat out but, I... More

Both the welcome and the service offered in this historic building in the centre of Llanyllin are warm and friendly. The whole place is so clean you expect it to sparkle. The breakfast is excellent: generous, delicious and perfectly cooked. Lots of piping hot water for baths at the end and start of your day. All in all it is... More

My partner and I had our wedding reception here on June 1st 2015. In one word - Brilliant. Thanks everyone for all your hard work in arranging the hotel for us. This hotel is in a beautiful area of Wales and is efficiently run and managed. John and Lou

Parts of the Cain Valley Hotel are hundreds of years old. The floors are uneven and parts of the building are rather quirky. This is not a modern, flashy, impersonal, 5 star hotel. But for a short break in a lovely part of Wales, the Cain Valley offers excellent value for money. A group of us stayed 3 nights on... More

Very friendly staff, greeted every time by a smile, good parking, quiet room overlooking the car park with hills in the distance (room 21), very clean, excellent food (think I may have put abit of weight on!) and excellent location. Only let down by bedroom decor which was in great need of a paint to get rid of the chips.... More

We found the hotel to be very accommodating, and the staff were very welcoming. The en-suite room was large and clean and very comfortable. If we were staying longer than two nights we would have preferred a shower facility. The food may be eaten in the bar/lounge and in the restaurant and was good quality. The breakfast was very good (my wife thought... More

Having children spread Britain we were unable to meet at the Cain as per usual on Motheing Sunday but I was privileged to attend very special gathering last Friday as we thanked our Headteacher and friend. The meal and setting Eva's wonderful as as the service . Simple evening made special once again. Alwyn .

We had a fantastic weekend here, the whole place and the staff were so friendly! We can't wait to go back! Cheers guys! Not too bad at playing pool either!!!! We also had a good breakfast, and the pizza and fish and chip shops were really good in the town. It's an old historical hotel and the rooms were great.
