The room was a nice size, comfortable, and very clean. It is in the old stable portion of the building giving it a nice historic flair. The pub food was very good and reasonable priced. The location was great with easy access from Offa's Dyke Path and just 2 blocks from the train station. The only draw back was the... More

Second visit to the Horse & Jockey, returning for a second stint on Offa's Dyke. The bathrooms are good. Our room - Pikel - was v small with no storage, ok for one night but having to clamber over rucksacks to move around would get awkward if staying any longer. Previously our room was Boozey which was much larger. Food... More

This was our last stop on a 2 day walk and a welcome retreat after a 15 mile walk from Kington to Knighton. We stayed in the family room and this was perfect for 4 friends. It's 2 bedrooms and a separate bathroom and this worked really well ..can imagine this would be great for families. The rooms were decorated... More

Stayed here for two nights, as attending a wedding in the village. This Inn is faultless - the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable, the food is delightful and the staff and locals are very welcoming. We stayed in a double room 'Tollan' and our friends stayed in a twin room 'Boozey' and were all happy. Will definitely stay here... More

The service here was very good. We visited ( 2 years ago) and it was OK. But it was MUCH better this year. We had a very helpful, convivial waiter and I think the ladies' loos, in the bar area, have been refurbished. They are now very nice. I didn't even 'go there' asking about gluten free, 2 years ago,... More

Just returned from a 4 day hiking tour on Offa's Dyke - staying at a variety of hotels and inns overnight. The Horse and Jockey is that great combination of a real pub with friendly staff, terrific atmosphere and unexpectedly good accommodation. Top that off with a great selection of local beers and locally sourced food - and you've got... More

Quaint pub, were advised to book, so rang up, told didn't need to. Arrived and the place was empty! Rev James on draught, one of hub's favourite! The ladies ordered spritzers, which arrived quickly. Pints still not 15 mins later. Lady staff came to apologise and say they were changing the barrel. Meals ordered. Ten mins later, beers arrived. 40... More

Excellent night at this great pub. Our rooms were lovely, clean, comfy, nicely decorated and huge bathroom. The owner and staff were brilliant and the locals in the snug bar made us very welcome. Enjoyed a superb pizza and the full welsh breakfast was perfect. We will be back when the weather is sunny to enjoy the courtyard

We stayed in Boozey, a twin room with ensuite accommodation. The room is a decent size and is entered by walking along an exterior wooden stairway and on entering is a step down straight into the room. Although the entry step has heavy duty carpeting, the rest of the room is lesser hard-wearing but softer which easily shows marks. A... More
