Started our northern section of Offa's Dyke at Knighton. Even before we arrived Dana was helpful in arranging for us to park our car close to the guest house for the 6 days we were walking. Our room was very comfortable with a large bathroom/shower room full of a huge variety of toiletries for our use. Our breakfast was most... More

A lovely B&B where you feel well looked after from the moment you arrive. Spacious rooms in a home that's the other end of the spectrum from boring chain hotels. Whilst we failed Dana by only wanting scrambled egg for breakfast it was still provided in top notch style backed up by lovely compotes, fruit salads plus the wonderful vodka... More

The decor, quality of breakfast, attention to detail and sheer personality of the host make this delightful B and B very special. My bathroom and bedroom were delightful and Dana's hospitality outstanding. Several fruit salads and a cooked breakfast to die for, with Lapsang tea recommended to match with the bacon!! How charming. Strongly recommended.

Stayed a night here on a cycling week. Great hospitality - a welcome from Nigel and newspapers to dry our wet shoes, lovely hot showers, plenty of interesting teas at any time - most places only provide bog standard black tea - and fabulous breakfast - best one we'd had all week! Best of all was Dana, who was a... More

We stayed one night at the Fleece House as part of a walking holiday package. It was excellent. Nigel collected us from the station when we arrived and Dana's hospitality was first class. The food was really the best we have ever had in a B&B. Very creative and wonderful presentation. No hesitation in recommending Fleece House.

We used Fleece House last year on the Offa's Dyke Walk, and when we booked to do the Glyndwr Way this year we asked the tour company to book us in there again for our start. How right we were. This time we had two nights in this quirky Welsh/Alpine home and once again enjoyed the warm welcome, the attention... More

We returned here to continue walking Offa's Dyke Path 2 years on. Dana was as welcoming as ever - we had the same spotless bedroom, fresh milk (why don't landladies realise how much this counts!) and an amazing breakfast - one of the best choices ever. Nigel collected us and our luggage from the station - and took it on... More

A very warm and caring welcome after our first whole day of rain on walking the Offa's Dyke Path. We came in, totally soaked and everything was taken care of...We were pleased with this reception and the hot bath we were able to have. The beds were excellent and Dana’s English breakfast was the best my husband ate during the... More

A highly recommended stay when on the Offa's Dyke walk, or just for leisure. Great welcome and facilities and a breakfast to suit every international taste. The internal design of the property is to Dana's unique taste! I won't say more for fear of spoiling the lovely surprise when you arrive.

I can’t praise Dana and Neville of The Fleece House too highly. We arrived soaked and tired half-way though our Offa’s Dyke walk, and were looked after superbly. The rooms, and our hosts, are idiosyncratic, eccentric and welcoming – everything a good b&b should be. We couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable or more interesting place to stay.
