We stopped here after passing by and had never been here before. We didn't stay here as only stopped for food. We had a lovely meal for all the family. The steaks were delicious and the staff friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended and hope to visit again when we are down here next time.

We booked the carpenters with a little trepidation as new owners and not many reviews on here. How pleased we are that we did stay here. It's only a 10 minute walk into town and you are out of the chaos of the busy noisy pubs. The new owners, Jason and his wife are juggling their new venture with a... More

Went here again with my Dad and can only say what great value, and also for us, cleanliness is a must and "the Carps" meets this criteria always. The owners are great and nothing is to much trouble. Can't wait for my next Gammon Steak. "The Carps" also manages to keep the feeling of an old village pub. We have never stayed here... More

We rolled up to the Carpenters arms on bank holiday Monday lunch time battling through the high winds and pouring rain. We were the first ones there but had a great welcome from the owner who cheered us right up. We sat in the cosy restaurant side and both ordered the gammon, what came was almost half a pig lol!... This roadside pub has been nicely decorated to give it both a modern but yet traditional atmosphere. We dined there twice on consecutive nights and we were pleased on both occasions.Mine host is a jolly Welshman from Llanelli and was certainly keen to see us happy. The bar is pleasant with a sprinkling of locals enjoying their pint. The starters... More

Called in on the off-chance for a meal with the family - never been here before, but was very pleasantly surprised. The service and the food was excellent. I couldn't decide whether to have a meal off the main menu (vast choice) or from the light bites menu. I am glad I choose the later as my daughter had gammon... More

Visited on the offchance for Sunday lunch (carvery). Didn't have a reservation but we were early so managed to get a table. Staff really friendly, food was lovely, 2 courses, very reasonably priced - great roast dinner! Pub decor is a bit dated and old fashioned but can honestly say the food was great and if I'm in the area... More

Been here lots of times to eat and my husband and I keep coming back for the delicious and well presented meals each time we stay in Laugharne. Stan, Babs and staff at The Carpenters Arms do a marvellous job of making everyone feel welcome. I highly recommend a visit and believe you will not be disappointed.
