Had a fantastic and very relaxing stay on the campsite at Slate Mill Lodge, lovely hosts, great facilities and an excellent location for walks. You could have a campfire which was a massive bonus. I only wish we had know David would have cooked dinner for us on our last night instead of us going out. Will stay again.

We stayed here for two nights over Easter. We're not sure we stayed in the room we booked, although it was a decent size with an ensuite bathroom. All clean and tidy. Breakfast was included, and was fairly standard. We didn't have dinner here, choosing to eat out in Little Haven instead both nights. The location is very good for... More

Probably one of the more difficult reviews I have written. Negative Room was small, cramped and needed a deep clean. Packed lunch £8.50 for a sandwich, kitkat and a bag of crisps. Charged £5 corkage for the use of wine glasses. Building work outside the room Postive Great host good local knowledge and knows the people that run Skomer Island... More

David is a great host and a great chef. Slate Mill is a comfortable B&B deep in the Pembrokeshire countryside, handy for Martins Haven and our destination, Skomer Island. The food comes from the surrounding farms and sea, well presented by an attentive owner.

We stayed for two nights with David and enjoyed the clean room and good shower, but we did not like the food. We were on a walking tour so we had to be picked up which worked out fine, but the lodge is not near any other establishment so your choices for eating are limited to only there. When we... More

We were part of a group of 10 people (walking group) who visited Skomer. David (boss man) was very good, looked after us very well. Some of the room very very small with no wardrobe to hang clothes, most rooms needed cleaning, not filthy but needed dusting etc, ie dead fly's etc. We stayed on a B/B bases, the food... More

We stayed here after we went on a puffin photography trip in Skokholm. David was a FANTASTIC host and made us both feel very welcome. The food was amazing, the room was great and company good too. Would highly recommend.

We booked into Slate Mill Lodge as we were visiting Skoma, and also because the reviews mentioned the host's cooking. The reviews were not understated; David is a wonderful host and chef, and we were made to feel more like friends than guests. We arrived after a long journey to be greeted by David offering a cool beer, and the... More

We booked into Slate Mill Lodge for two nights as we wanted to visit Skomer Island. On arrival we were greeted warmly by David who was busy preparing dinner. Our room was in the Musselwick part of SML, accessed across a small bridge and into a fully equipped and sizeable kitchen / dining area with two of the bedrooms. As... More

This place is the best B&B we have stayed in for years - a lovely house in the Pembrokeshire countryside surrounded by fields, sheeps and chickens, cosy and spacious rooms and, most important, David the owner himself. He is always up for a chat in his big kitchen during he is cooking the most amazing food I have ever tried.... More
