The Campsite at Slate Mill. A wonderful 'vision'....But a wonderful vision that needs focus and a lot more work. The vision behind the campsite is one that has nature and eco-friendliness in mind...At least, that was the impression we got. No bad ambition in our view but unfortunately, the ambition is just that, an ambition. The site's pitches are separated... More

A nice little campsite with a warm welcome on arrival shown around the site and offered a choice of pitches which was good, the site is still being worked on in places but that didn't impact our stay the pitches are separated by high grassy mounds so it feels very private,I really liked this set up log fires are also... Stayed for four nights. Rooms were clean and had v.good facilities. Breakfast was all from local butchers. Tasted great so did the evening meal. David puts great thought into his meals. Jane is a lovely host too and helps at the bar!

Visited again this weekend with friends after a fab weekend last year! What a lovely weekend. The site is beautiful - tranquil and calm! There's wifi if needed in the bar area and courtyard but not in the fields- which is perfect to wind down. Venue is really close to Skomer for day tripping and the boat times etc are... More

We went with family in July and stayed in the bed and breakfast and our Son, Daughter-in-law and 2 year old son stayed in their campervan. The bed and breakfast was superb with freshly cooked breakfast with plenty of cereals, fruit juices etc. The campsite facilities were ideal with separate showers and loos for men and women. These were spotlessly... More

just got back from a 2 night stay with my mum to see the puffins on Skomer Island. Hosts David and Jane couldn't make us feel more welcome, and had a meal waiting for us after a 7 hour drive from bedfordshire . Would totally recommend this place whether you are there to visit Skomer Island or just to explore... More

We spent a night here as it is very close to the launch for the boats to Skomer Island. Lovely room with a good night's sleep. Beautiful building and well furnished. But best of all was the warm welcome and hospitality from the owners. Would certainly recommend, and camp site looked great too. Very peaceful.

Spent a couple of nights here and felt very warmly welcomed. The building has been lovingly renovated. Our room was reached through a private lounge and up beautiful wooden stairs. The room whilst small was beautifully appointed with windows overlooking the garden and a small ensuite with shower which was a great powerful hot spray not the usual lukewarm trickle.... More

Just visited Slate Mill lodge. What a lovely place. Spent two nights in the fantastically well equipped room. Easy to get to Skoma Island. Lovely atmosphere. The orangery is a fantastic location for breakfast. Home made Jams, marmalade and bread. Breakfast is a tad on the light side but cooked well. Along side the location the attentive but not overbearing... More

My wife and I stayed in the Musselwick apartment for two nights as a 40th birthday treat. I honestly can't fault the hospitality of the owners who welcomed us like family members, and provided useful tips for guaranteeing places on the oversubscribed ferry to Skomer Island - five minutes drive away. Our room was one of two (1 x double,... More
