A warm and friendly welcome upon arriving at the Skirrid Inn , staff can't do enough for you . The Inn has an old world charm , with a roaring fire in the bar area to snuggle up to on cold winter evenings . The bedrooms are spacious and very clean , with four poster beds that are so comfortable... More

Went for Lunch we were greeted warmly and told to choose a seat, there were lots of specials on the board. We all had different meals the liver and veg was very nice with plenty of veg being served on separate dish. The beefburger was also very good as was the plaice. The prices were very reasonable the staff very... More

And if the title wasn't enough, they also serve some of the best grub you'll come across in Wales!! A fabulous Inn with bags of history, you just have to sit and watch for a few hours in the day and see how many people visit and leave smiling! I think the back stairs are great with the noose from... More

Called here by chance for a quick lunch and it proved to be a very wise choice. The lady behind the bar could not have been more helpful ; we both had jacket potatoes and the service was excellent. Extensive menu - will most definitely return to try a steak or a burger or even just the soup and crusty... More

Stopped in for early dinner mid-week. Didn't stay in the hotel so cannot comment. Bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, beer was good, garden nice and dog friendly. Food was ok, what you'd expect for pub food - but would be improved by more use of oven and less of microwave. Veg was zapped to death, but the rest... More

Great for a weekend away, ghost hunt or a bite to eat. A must visit. Love the Skirrid. Lovely food, comfy rooms with huge beds and such an incredible location. Loved the spooky stories and the atmosphere. All the rooms are lovely but the one with the bathroom set down the stairs is creepiest. Would go again and will.

Lovely setting and steeped in character. Only had a drink here and sat outside due to the glorious weather. Bar area is fab with a huge fireplace. Will have to return to rate food which appeared to be very reasonably priced

The Sunday lunch served here is fabulous. My husband, mother and I visited recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beef was lean and of a really good quality and all the vegetables were really well cooked and obviously fresh and again of a good quality. We would definitely return.

We called here because nowhere else was open for a meal. The building itself with rope hanging inside was interesting and the locals made us feel very welcome by pointing out local historical landmarks and chatting. However the food was very disappointing even though the waitress did her best to resolve the situation. Nice people, good atmosphere but I would... More
