We stayed in Ruthin Castle to celebrate my husband's 'special' birthday. I initially found a promotional offer for this hotel - afternoon tea, dinner, bed & breakfast. I contacted the hotel directly to check availability for the dates we wanted to stay and spoke with a young gentleman called James who was very pleasant and very helpful. James offered to... More

We recently stayed at Ruthin Castle where my partner chose to propose. The staff were lovely and went above and beyond the call of duty. We stayed in the beautiful Patsy room. The huge bathroom with a superb bathtub and the four poster bed were lovely. We ate at Berties - it was very nice. The grounds and castle buildings... More

I booked to stay via Virgin Experience and had nothing but poor customer service since the start. Attempting to book my stay, I called in June to be told there was no availability so I contacted again in July to stay August. With email confirmation that rooms were available, I called to provide details to be told there were no... More

Right before I start this isn't a case of; we didn’t get what we wanted or we have an axe to grind with the hotel. We have stayed at this hotel on two occasions, two very special occasions, and loved it. Loved it so much we wanted to get married there in 2014. We chose the medieval banqueting room and... More

Dear Andi1x Many thanks for taking the time to write your review, all feedback is gratefully received . We stayed at this hotel as guests of a wedding. Our small group had 3 Noble rooms booked. The rooms, all on the lowest floor, were well equipped, had nice views over the countryside, extremely comfortable beds and great free-standing baths. However, we were given 3 doubles instead of the one double and 2 twins booked. This was despite the... More

Ever two year we have an international conference and we always take our delegates to Ruthin castle hotel for the medieval banquet. It’s always amazing the staff work so hard and the food is excellent. Since 2005 we’ve been going there taking around 100 guests at a time, thanks to Danny (Sir Daniel), Lady Mairon (Not sure if I spelt... More

Ruthin Castle is a fabulous place to stay though the castle itself is more akin to an 18th Century stately home. The dining and sitting rooms are impressively designed with a mix of period and contemporary furniture and there are wonderful grounds to explore including a medieval courtyard. Our room was small but tastefully furnished and included a spacious wardrobe,... More

My husband and I spent a lovely night here on the first night of our Summer holiday in Wales and loved it!Iain says it's the most comfortable bed he has ever slept in, and that was just the standard room, too!Breakfast was an enjoyable continental feast..we were sad to leave and wished we'd booked 2 or 3 nights.Definitely want to...
