We have visited Ruthin Castle numerous times in the last few years. Some visits have been amazing (Medieval Feast), a few stays have been great, one in particular left lots to be desired and the recent May Bank event was not as great as we (and I'm sure staff) had hoped. Still, I had booked to bring a elderly friend... More

On our trip to the UK, we wanted to stay in a castle. We were not disappointed. This castle dates back to 1292. We found it so interesting exploring the castle and the grounds. The grounds were so spectacular and interesting that we didn't leave to go into town. We didn't see any signs of ghost that is reported on... More

I spent one night at this hotel on a Secret Escapes deal. I loved the hotel. It's 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ruthin - a very small town with some attractive old buildings. The hotel is a "proper" castle, set on a hill with ruins in the grounds to explore. Our bedroom was a good size with good... More

When you first pull up to the hotel castle entrance you're treated to splendour. You're greeted by very friendly and attentative staff in the regal and majestic reception. It's when you leave the reception and make your way down the dark halls and corridors you realise this place needs a little bit of TLC. Don't get me wrong its still... More
