We arrived before 2pm so couldn't get into our room but were very helpfully offered another room to freshen up in. Friendly and helpful reception staff who placed bags in our room whilst we were out. We arrived back from our party at 1am, found our bedroom which was just off the car park and were surprised to hear voices... more

18 females on a medieval trip to Ruthin castle, the accomodation had been booked for over 5 months. check-in time was 11.00 at 15.00 the rooms were still not ready, so after waiting for another hour 3 "mums" took to making up the rooms themselves, this including stripping beds, empting bins and moving dirty towels. One young male staff was... more

Chose a meal from the bar menu. The descriptions of the food were not particularly inviting or elaborate, but the food was better than expected, and very reasonably priced. The service was sincere and pleasant. more

Recently visited The Anchor Inn at Ruthin following a search of the internet (redirected from Bodidris Hall site), It was our aniversary and we wanted something special, however upon arrival we found the whole experience appauling. The main bar was dowdy and unwelcoming, akin to a 1970's spit and sawdust pub. the barman, Spanish I think, was barely able to... more

I was looking for a hotel in Ruthin that had enough accomodation to take a party of twelve in 6 twin rooms and the Olde Anchor was the one I picked. After booking I then looked on TripAdvisor and was a bit worried by some of the reviews. Having now been, albeit for just one night, I think most of... more

We stayed in room number 9 it was a single room with a double bed in. We only had a overnight bag which we kept in the ensuite bathroom because there was no space in the room. Shower door was loose at the bottom, shower head kept falling forward when in use, hairdryer did not work. We went to bed... more

We booked at the Ye Old Anchor Inn simply because we couldn't get a booking at the hotels nearer the northern coastal towns like Llandudno, but it was a good thing that those hotels were booked out, otherwise we would have missed this rather unique hotel hidden away in the small town of Ruthin. Setting afoot inside the hotel was... more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in June of 2006. We had flown into Manchester and were looking for a city in Wales where we could have our family stay in one room prior to us arriving into Portmeirion, Wales. As you know, family rooms can be hard to find in Europe. Ruthin is a very nice city... more
