Stayed at the Hotel midweek from Tues 18th to Thurs 20th March, comfy hotel, good security, breakfast V.G. Not enough parking spaces, beware of car park next to Weatherspoons car park, it's private. Good location. We stayed there, because of my Mother's 100th Birthday celebrations.

As a Ruthin resident I visit the Castle Hotel on a few occasions and this review will reflect most of them. The staff are always friendly but there are not enough of them. I turned up on Saturday 21 Feb for a quick bite to eat. After having to queue behind 6 other people for the 1 person behind the... More

Already a Wetherspoons fan, we had visited the Castle Hotel before, but this was the firstime that we have stayed in a Wetherspoons Hotel and we were not disappointed. Booking online through the Wetherpoons website was simple and quick and my email directly to the Hotel asking about parking arrangements was answered quickly. The hotel itself has a small car... So our first taste of a Wetherspoon's hotel! It was a very pleasant stay that proved much better than we could have imagined. Our room was spotlessly clean, well appointed with a big bath, plenty of space, a comfortable bed with quality linen, a hospitality tray and pleasant friendly staff. We loved it so much we also took the fantastically... More

Shared a twin room recently (room 107). Was very small with the beds practically touching each other! Additionally the bathroom was very small and the walls seem to be very thin as you can clearly hear talking/ snoring in adjacent rooms... Therefore it wasn't the most relaxing of stays. Friends who were also staying there had a much nicer room... More

Thank you for your comments. We do have an inter connecting set of rooms and you where in one of these and that is why you had a noise issue. Regretably due to the age of the building all our rooms are different in size however should you decide to stay with us again please make sure you request a... More

I had two meals here in the last week. The Xmas dinner with a pint of lager was excellent value; the plate had four slices of turkey, cranberry, roast potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, gravy, veg, etc. really a lot of food and it was all delicious. Secondly, today, the 6th Dec 13, my wife and I had the Friday Special, fish... More

Wetherspoon's have obviously spent a lot of money updating the rooms in this small hotel. The result for us was a very pleasant two-night stay. Our room was very clean and well-decorated and had a very comfortable bed. Room lighting was subdued to the point of semi-darkness, so brighter bulbs would help! A very nice and clean en-suite bathroom. The... More

We stayed for three nights recently and found this a great hotel to stay in. The hotel is in the centre of Ruthin. Hotel furbished to a high standard. Room was clean and spacious and had a bath which is great, a small problem was the shelf in bathroom was over the toilet and not the basin which was not... More

This is a beautiful heritage property in the centre of the historic market town of Ruthun. As usual, Wetherspoon have treated this building with the respect it deserves and the interior is well restored and in keeping. My single bedroom was smallish but beautifully done with everything to a high standard. With the bar and restaurant you get what you... More

I'd no knowledge that Wetherspoons had any hotels and was pleasantly surprised to find the Castle. A very well appointed room at the front of the hotel was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Just one thing; the lighting in the room was so dim that it made the room feel 'dingy'. There's nothing to hide so brighten it... More

Thank you for taking the time to comment. The rooms have a rather dark colour palet however we hope that placed spotlighting helps brighten the rooms and I have passed your comment over to our designers who always welcome feedback.
