Booked a one night/ two day break in north Wales. We love north Wales anyway so chose Ruthin as a last minute booked through laterooms and after checking out Tripadvisor reviews. The location was magical - in town on top of the hill. It also helped that the weather has been so amazing. Not to be confused with Ruthin Castle... More

paid £80.00 for a one night stay room only which is a bit much, considering we paid £10.00 for breakfast this ended up a £90.00 b&b.Pleasant rooms nicely decorated and furnished but a bit of a warren to the rooms, very stuffy in rooms and obviously a issue as there was a large pedestal fan at the foot of bed,2" gap at... Thank you for your recent response to your stay with us. I am sorry you thought breakfast was included however non of our 30 hotels include breakfast in the room rate. Our rooms are very competively priced and the rate can be lower if it is reserved well in advance an also if booked on our JD Wetherspoon website can also... Excellent JD Wetherspoon hotel and pub, one of the better hotels in the JDW collection. Nice modern rooms, and hotel in a very central location with small but adequate car park. Public car park adjoins at just 50p per 4 hours. I am a massive fan of Wetherspoon outlets and generally have little to say of a negative nature, however............... More

We were caravanning nearby so had two meals in the restaurant. It was different than most Wetherspoons pubs which normally have very large rooms but this had lots of smaller rooms. It was very busy and the first meal was at a table with cumfy armchairs but the table was a bit too high for the chairs, but no real... More

We were in Ruthin for a soirée at a friend's home so my wife chose The Castle to stay at. Lovely rooms in an old building with loads of character. We had a family room and a twin room. The family room had a separate bedroom within it where our son slept so giving us a room to ourselves. Lovely... More

The overnight rate and the price of food both represents great value for a modern[ised] village hotel/inn and the staff were all friendly and polite. However, food was average and our 'family' room at the top was very cramped with angled walls. It was also stiflingly hot with no air conditioning and therefore we had to have the windows open...... Thank you for your comments regarding your stay with us. We agree that ventilation or air con is required in our higher floor rooms and this is in hand and obviously because of the age and listing of the building some of our rooms do have beams in them or a slope on the roof however the refurbishment has been... I am surprised at the negative comments. We have been here about weekly for the last two months and found all of a good standard. Stayed at the Hotel midweek from Tues 18th to Thurs 20th March, comfy hotel, good security, breakfast V.G. Not enough parking spaces, beware of car park next to Weatherspoons car park, it's private. Good location. We stayed there, because of my Mother's 100th Birthday celebrations.

Thank you for your kind comments following your recent stay with us. So our first taste of a Wetherspoon's hotel! It was a very pleasant stay that proved much better than we could have imagined.
