We stayed one night in this inn which seems to have different names, on the main sign at the front it is The Star Bistro, on the side the Morning Star! The entrance is not the most welcoming as you are directed in round the back via the kitchen entrance which is untidy and dirty! The room is overpriced at... More

Just to clarify, this pub is open, but has been renamed as The Star Inn (possibly leading to the confusion?) and very much open for business and as popular as ever! Well worth a visit if in Ruthin for a great atmosphere and quality food.

Stayed the night while recently passing nearby on Offa's Dyke. Very friendly and helpful owner who took me back to the Path the following day. Room very comfortable and full of character but would have expected some shampoo/gel etc for the price. Stand alone bath in the huge bathroom was very welcome for tired legs. Enjoyed a drink in the... More

My husband and I stayed at the nearby Ruthin Castle and we had checked reviews prior to our visit, so we were pleasantly suprised that our experience was better than hoped. The restaurant is like an authentic Spanish Bodega and offered a huge choice of tapas . The table mat doubles up to request your meal so that there is... More

Went here on a Groupon deal for food. A large and varied choice of tapas dishes on offer. Each freshly and expertly cooked to order. The food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The surroundings were comfortable and relaxing. Top marks on all fronts! Would definately recommend and will be returning in the future.

This is a relatively new B and B in a VERY old setting. The house dates from about 1550 and has been many things over the years including a Public House. It is still a Public House with a tiny bar and a comfortable Lounge, with a restaurant which serves (oddly enough) Spanish Tapas. Set in Ruthin, right across from... More

Just stayed over the Bank Holiday and must say we were very impressed. Staff could not do enough even though they were extremely busy. Food first class and would stay here again in a heart beat. Great base for exploring with many places close by.

Stayed at this B&B over a Friday and Saturday nights and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and charm of the room. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the quality of food served for breakfast very good. We also ate there on the Friday evening and again found the quality of the food to be very high.... More

Very welcoming, all staff were nice and friendly.. Our room was very nice, lovely decor and comfortable bed. Loved the additional touch of old comics in the room. Very unique. We were allowed to check out as late as we wanted, and we were also allowed a late breakfast which suited us better. Breakfast was very very nice. Unfortunately we... More
