This was our 3rd stay here, we stayed for 2 nights this time, wish we could have stayed for more, Anna and Phillip our hosts are always so welcoming on arrival. Our room, as always, was beautiful, very comfortable with a four poster bed and overlooked their superb garden and had gorgeous views of the Clwydian mountain range from our... More

What a great find! We were in N Wales for a 50th Wedding Anniversary Party and was recommended this place to stay. From the moment we arrived, our hosts were there to greet us and assist with bags. Anna and Philip excel at what they do. There is a real care and attention to detail all too often missed but... More

Welcoming hosts, beautiful house and gardens plus great comfort. Thank you. We went to Bangor on Dee races beforehand so were hungry and late arriving. Hosts were unfazed and helped with the hunger. Thank you.

We stayed one night on our way south and although it was a last minute booking we were made very welcome with a hot drink and home made cake as soon as we arrived. Anna's lovely evening meal (a la carte menu) was accompanied by so much wine. Philip is an exceedingly generous host, we felt sorry not to be... More

Fir Grove is a delightful and very special B&B. Hosts Philip and Anna Meadway have created a splendid home from a centuries old country house. Philip is a keen gardener too and the gardens extending to one and a half acres are open once a week for interested visitors. The house furnishings are tasteful, the breakfasts of the hearty type... We have just returned from a long weekend at Firgrove. Everything was fantastic. We had the cottage (as we had intended to bring our dog) and the four poster.Breakfasts were superb - highlights were the scrambled egg and plum compote. We had dinner on one evening. It was most enjoyable meeting other guests and enjoying Anna's food and Philip's wine.... More

Set on a leafy hillside Firgrove is a beautiful house, warm and welcoming. The garden is full of interest - we loved especially the apple orchard at the back in full bloom, the lovely mature trees to the the front and lawns with patches of bluebells and primroses. Anna & Philip are wonderful hosts and made our two day visit... More

We had what can only be described as a quality two night stay at Fir Grove. The house and furnishings are quality, as is the garden. The food was quality (the scrambled egg would win any competition!) as were Mine Host's wines. There were seven people present for our second dinner, we all 'clicked' and had so many laughs. It... We had a last minute two night stay here and had such a lovely time. We stayed in the annex to the main house as we had our dog with us and the annex is dog friendly. The annex has it's own little kitchen area, lounge (including log burner), bed room and bathroom. It was cosy and very homely. We... More

A very warm welcome awaited us as we arrived for our short stay at Firgrove. It is a beautiful home and everything is very elegant. Our evening meal was served in a lovely dining room and we enjoyed a special meal from freshly prepared ingredients. My gluten free intolerance was no problem at all. The hosts ate with us at...
