My husband, two daughters and I stayed here for 3 nights whilst doing the flowers for a wedding. We requested a very early breakfast which was produced with such charm despite the hour and was delicious. We came and went at antisocial hours and were always welcomed back as if to a friend's house. The surrounding country is beautiful and... More

My husband and I stayed here with our 4 month old son in July to break our journey up from London to Holyhead. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful (holding the baby while we ate our breakfast together for the first time in months!), and our room was beautiful, comfortable and well-appointed. It's an extremely beautiful property in a... More

A wonderful welcome, very hospitable hosts, lovely rooms full of character, beautiful breakfast with homemade bread and jam and fresh eggs from the garden. Set in an unspoilt location, a perfect getaway. I cannot recommend this fabulous b and b highly enough. We will definitely be back to explore this beautiful area in more depth. In fact I can't wait!

Just had one night in this lovely place tucked away near Ruthin. The views were wonderful, the owners were great and the rooms were comfortable, tastefully decorated with everything we needed. This place has freshly cooked bread for breakfast, a computer for your use, hens, fruit trees, bee hives and a woodpecker!! Great location for walking and a warm welcome... More

Excellent stay for 4 nights mid-July. Hosts David and Marilyn are very friendly and informative, with plenty of ideas for visits. Great conversations with them. House is very clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. Breakfasts are excellent, including home made jams/marmalade. In the middle of lovely countryside, yet close to Ruthin. Would definitely stay again if in the area.... More

This was our second visit to Plas Efenechtyd Cottage and we have to say that it was just as good, if not better than last year. The traditional Welsh breakfast set us up well for our journey up to the Lakes, with lovely fresh eggs, home made marmalade and jams, not to mention the delicious homemade bread which we could... Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend, where in North Wales have we never visited before..? A quick peek on the Airbnb site and what's this? Ruthin? Never been there, I wonder... A Friday night drive up the M6 and M54 is rarely something to look forward to, but a treat awaited at our destination - nestled away in the hills south of... More

If you need overnight accommodation in this area you cannot go wrong with this. It is a wonderfully peaceful location, the room was very tastefully appointed and the breakfast was excellent - their own eggs, home-made jams and fresh home-made bread. Dave and Marilyn are also excellent hosts and made us very welcome.

My other half fancied an impulse weekend away to mark the pleasant (and rare!) combination of a significant reduction in our weekly outgoings and a really positive weather forecast. We'd stayed in Efenechtyd parish before, for a few days in an excellent farmhouse b & b about ten years ago, so we knew the area; and the memory of the... More

This marvellous cottage is set in a beautiful, peaceful location and the rooms are very tastefully appointed. The breakfasts were first class, as was the opportunity to talk at the breakfast table with the other guests and Marilyn and Dave, who were excellent hosts. They (literally) pointed us in the direction of a terrific hill walk up to the Jubilee... More
