We have eaten here a few times and the food is always of a good standard. There is a separate vegetarian menu, with a variety of different dishes on it, as well as a kid's menu. (The latter has the bog-standard things you find on kid's menus everywhere - I dream of the day restaurants will add more interesting dishes... More

A good atmosphere in a very busy bar and restaurant. One of party was a vegetarian and on request was provided with a separate menu which offered a range of different dishes. He raved about his meal all evening. The remainder of the party all chose different dishes, lamb, fish, chicken and a Mediterranean meat dish. All well presented and... More

Sharing platter Starter not as described and contained fish not chicken but they did apologise and knock of bill. The food is not adventurous but is well prepared, cooked and presented. My wife and daughter love the chicken curry .... The surroundings are modest but it's gentle and quiet ... Far from the madding crowd

We have been going to The Anchorage to eat at lunch time for years. We went today 8/8/15, and again we couldn't fault it. My husband had Surf & Turf off the Specials menu and it was cooked beautifully. Steak nice and rare as requested, and the Lobster was beautifully cooked with loads of vegetable, chips and potatoes for very... More

We always come here and enjoy the steaks when on holiday locally. The quality of the food is first class and cooked to perfection. Our only regret is that our dog has to stay in the car which means we visit when the weather is cool and later in the evening. It would be so nice to have a dog... More

3 of us visited for supper one evening in July 2015, and all commented that the decor felt like a 20-30 year throwback. However, the food portions are huge. My fish was a little watery, but the desserts are delicious. Prices are moderate, so I understand why the restaurant was popular with families when we visited. Unable to comment on... More

My wife and I have coming here to eat several times a year for more than a decade, when we visit our holiday home in Anglesey. Other reviewers have described it as dated and in need of a makeover. That may be true, but what it lacks in style it more than makes up for in a friendly welcome, reliable... More

My brother and I ate in the dining room having booked at short notice. We both had Rack of Lamb which was excellent and the vegetables with it were of good quality and more than sufficient in quantity. The wine list was reasonably extensive and the prices in this day and age were lower than expected by UK standards. The... More

I am a regular here I have stayed five times (20 nights). Would I go back? Yes, would I go back if somewhere else appeared, No. The hotel is a mixture of Old Peoples home/ NHS intuition mixed with a 70's guesthouse. The place needs a makeover in the bar/restaurant and reception but the rooms are good with stylish decor.... More

Nice facilities and a brilliant view. The food is good quality and tasty (Especially on Sundays)! The hotel has a family friendly atmosphere and lots of social areas, perfect for all types of visits. And lots and lots of pet cats!!!
