We arrived just before service closed (9pm) and were made to feel so welcome. The food (fish and chips / steak ale pie) was amazing... fresh fish and tender welsh beef)!! The restaurant was lovely and warm and the service was great... The waiter Gaz was so friendly.... we quizzed him on the sources of our food and he was... More

We had a family xmas meal at the Anglesey Arms and it was excellent. From the moment we entered the staff gave us first class service at all times. Seven course meal which was very tasty and the plentifull. Special thanks to Geraint and the team for looking after us. We visit the venue often and are always pleased. Thanks... More

popped in for a drink and a sandwich. We weren't disappointed, the bar area is nice and clean, it has and atmosphere of a well liked local. The staff efficient and helpful. My wife had a chicken & bacon club sandwich on toasted bread, I had crayfish and prawn in sauce on white, both served with garnish & absolutely gorgeous... More

Stayed here a few days before Christmas because we were attending a wedding in Anglesey. We'd booked several weeks in advance and had requested a 'spacious room'. We arrived on the Friday evening to find the pub absolutely packed with people, many of whom were attending Christmas parties. Despite the fact that it was busy, we were attended to quickly... More

Booked in for four days, overall experience was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food and service were very good. The only problem we faced was being in a family room (quite small - only one room) with 3 children under 7 one of the windows opened fully with no safety lock. Apart from this and the slightly small room... More

Visited Christmas eve with friends. Food was awful; fish and chips were greasy and the chicken tagliatelle was sent back as the cream was off. Sorry, but I have eaten here serveral times during the past six months and have been disappointed every time. It's a shame that the food is so bad as the front of house staff are... More

We stayed at the Anglesey Arms on Sunday 21st December without pre-booking. We were given room 9, which although small seemed fine, nicely decorated and comfortable bed. A little warm even with the heating turned off. At around 9.30pm we decided to turn in for the night. On turning back the duvet, we were surprised to find a pair of... More

We had a delightful stay here the night before getting ferry from Holyhead to Dublin Staff were warm and welcoming and rooms well maintained and comfortable. Important for us was that it was dog friendly and there were great walks close by along the waterside.

I had an overnight stop at The Anglesey Arms last night on my way from London to catch the ferry at Holyhead. I review a lot of places and, rather stupidly, had not looked at any of the reviews before we booked there. On the good side - our room was spacious, clean and well presented. The en-suite bathroom was... More

It's a pity that the manager has no people skills whatsoever - rude, rude, rude!!! He treated us as if we were gatecrashing his own living room!! We will never, ever be going there again, which is a shame, but there are plenty of better places to have parties, and I shall be telling everyone I know NOT to waste... More
