Our stay was two nights , two single rooms ,rooms were very clean and comfortable , we had one evening meal at the hotel and we were the only ones having dinner that night seems everybody else had gone out ,the meal was quite nice ,but the second night we went out seemed the menu was the same , breakfast... Just stayed here for 4 nights with a geology field trip group. Reading through the reviews was a puzzle as i didn't recognise the negative ones. Perhaps there is another Gadlys in a parallel universe? The hotel was very interesting architecturally and had superb views. Extensive gardens and even its own guinea fowl roaming around and queuing up for breakfast outside... More

We took our 2 yrs and 7 yrs grandchildren to Cemaes for a short break. Gadlys has been beautifully restored and our family room was spacious, spotless and comfortable. The children were made to feel welcome and their particular tastes were catered for at breakfast and dinner. The hotel is well located for exploring the area and the huge garden... More

The hotel was easy to find in lovely surroundings and great views of Cemaes Bay. The rooms were beautifully clean, comfortable bed and with nice furnishings. The jumanji style hallway leads to a lovely staircase and stain glass ceiling. I feel guilty saying this but customer service could be improved particularly during breakfast. I understand that service can be stressful... More

Me and my partner had booked this hotel as we had stayed there on numerous occasions back in the mid 90's and had a fabulous time and was hoping to recreate that experience with my now wife and kids. The grounds were as I remembered, beautiful, breathtaking and set back just outside the picturesque village of Cemaes Bay. However the... More

The main problem with this hotel was that the bed was like concrete, as well as being narrow. There was no shower as such, just a bath with a hand-held mixer, so the whole business of washing was an ergonomic nightmare. The room was quite dusty. The complaints about the attitude of the proprietors are justified. Pat must have given... More

I was walking the Anglesey Coastal Path, so my wife booked me here as it is very close to the path. After booking, we read some of the reviews, and got a little worried. We needn't have been worried! When I called her to review my day, I said "Honey, you really found a gem with this one! The view... More

We boarded at this hotel 12 months ago. When we arrived we could see it was a great place in a fabulous location and so very surprised to see there were no other guests....should have known better !!... the room was very nice and the food was fine... but the service was very poor. We were the only guests in... More

The location of this hotel is wonderful - about a mile from the beach with lovely peaceful gardens with distant views down to the sea. However, the hotel itself is very dated and in need of modernisation. The food is ok but overpriced. The current owners are rude! Every time we visit we give this place another chance and every... this is a lovely county house hotel, set in lovely grounds. its just a total shame that the owners are so rude. I attended a family gathering here a few years ago and remember thinking that they were very arrogant and basically couldn't wait to get rid of us (they must have forgotten that they actually have to work to... Your information is not factually correct. The Christening had been booked for a maximum of 40 persons. It included honey roast ham, roast turkey breast, baked salmon goujons and three salads. Our highest priced buffet. The actual number of guests was 54 adults and 13 children. A total of 67. Not 40 as had been booked. We rapidly ran out... More
