I cannot knock the service here. Jane who dealt with me both on the phone and at the hotel was pleasant, helpful and understanding. The general look of the place is beautifully old world and the location and town are fabulous. Unfortunately the hotel is tired and not very clean. I booked in with the delightful Jane clambered, up to... More

Have stayed at Bishopsgate twice this year, been extremely grateful for the services provided and extremely pleased with the rooms, food, cleanliness etc but have found the booking process itself has not gone smoothly both times I have stayed, the first time I ended up getting upgraded due to the unavailability of the twin room I booked but the second... This was our second stay. The owner is lovely, is involved in everything and couldn't be more helpful. The hotel is very central, but the car park is a bit cramped. We used it before a ferry to Ireland from Holyhead which is less than a half hour away. The rooms are small and a bit dated but contain everything... More

We have stayed at the Bishopsgate House Hotel a couple of times lately for short breaks and have enjoyed our stays. The rooms are a good size and nicely furnished. The location is good for wandering down to the pier and beach area, or for wandering round the shops or the historic attractions of this small but quite upmarket Anglesey... More

We have just returned from a two night break at the Bishopsgate Hotel. We have visited Beaumaris before on day trips so this was the first time we had actually stayed in the town. The hotel was very pleasant, we booked a superior room at the front which was very spacious with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. We had... More

We walked in from the street looking for something to eat , at first we thought it was pub grub, but we were soon in for a nice surprise. Very friendly service , good wine list and the food was excellent. Not cheap but certainly great value for money.

Me and my husband stayed at Bishopsgate for a short break in the middle of June. All of the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. We were particularly impressed with how welcoming they were towards our dog and made her feel right at home. It is difficult to find dog friendly hotels but all the staff at... More

This is a very nice hotel, refurbished within the last few years but holding on to many of the quirks that a place 200 years old will have. Our room at the back of the building was spacious and clean, probably not as plush as the others at the front of the building that cost more but was of a... More

Do you know what, I've stayed in some 5 star places and some 1 star b & b's. I try to come at them all with a fresh perspective and not put 5 star expectations onto small family run businesses. Judging by some previous reviews they are paying the least amount they can and expecting their own butler! I stayed... More

This is a very disappointing hotel. Cleanliness was an issue. The room was scruffy with dirty/marked carpet, sticky surfaces, broken sink, chipped toilet, broken window in bathroom (carpet in a bathroom, around a toilet is a big "no no"). Old and scruffy shower. Uncomfortable beds. Staff looked tired and disinterested. We wouldnt recommend this place as it is, which is... More

Hi Thank you for taking the time to write a review even if it has left us all a little shell shocked and is not consistent with our mainly excellent reviews. I have left you a personal message as I would like to address your comments personally. I don't think any of the staff could be described as tired and... More
