I can only think that Talsarnau is the best equipped village in the country for B&Bs if Gwrach Ynys is not ranked in the top two at present. I can only think it is because it has not had the volume of review that others have had. One thing is for certain: those who have reviewed speak the truth- there... More

We've now stayed at Gwrach Ynys on two occasions and could not find fault on either. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and welcoming and with one of the finest views you will ever see from the hill behind the house. A little bit away from everything but I guess that means equally accessible for everything, so not really an issue. Both... More

If you want a quiet, comfortable and welcoming place to stay that is conveniently situated for the Snowdonia National Park and beautiful coastlines and beaches then you can't go wrong with Gwrach Ynys. The bedrooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts are delicious, ample and nicely served. The landlady, Deborah Williams, is delightful and goes out of her way to... More

Received a warm and friendly welcome. The location was for us ideal. The room was of average size, nicely decorated and clean. The ensuite was of a similar standard, the downside was a very noisy extract fan with a long time delay; we overcame this by just turning on the mirror light. The communal areas were also nicely decorated and... More

We're a couple in our mid-thirties and we stayed here for 3 nights early August 2014. It was perfectly located for exploring the area by car, parking up and going for long walks in the hills. Equally for driving the 3 mins to Harlech to savour the glorious beach, journeying a little further round the bay to Portmerion, Porthmadog and... More

Stayed here after a wedding in Portmeirion. Wonderfully welcoming and kind hosts, very accommodating of our last minute booking. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly timed, with warm toast and our nicely scrambled and poached eggs arriving at the same time. Immaculate and cosy rooms and common areas. And what a setting! Mountains and fields (including horse) all round, but easy... More

I saw this guest house in June whilst staying in Porthmadog in a "budget box" type of hotel. It looked so inviting that I booked 3 nights in September. The reviews I read are totally accurate, from the warm welcome with tea or coffee to the immaculate rooms and well cooked breakfasts which set you up for the day.Forget your guide books... This is an excellent B&B, and Gwynfor and Deborah are good humoured and helpful. When returning at the end of a day it's like coming home. The room facilities were appreciated, including the lighting - something which is often neglected elsewhere. The location is good for views and for accessing many Snowdonia attractions - the two railways and Portmerion are... More

I stayed there for 6 nights and didn't want to leave!! It was brilliant and I have no complaint or criticism. You get a very warm welcome from the hosts Gwynfor and Deborah and nothing is too much trouble for them in making your stay comfortable and pleasurable. If you need help planning sightseeing or hiking in Snowdonia then Gwynfor... More

Wonderful hosts welcomed us with a pot of tea after a long journey from Ipswich, couldn't be more helpful and accommodating.Rooms are spotless and bright. Breakfast is great, location good, couldn't fault a thing. Gwynfor even rang me on my mobile to tell me I had left my boots in the room within 5 mins of leaving so turned round and... More
