Small complaint about overcharge just ignored. Spectacularly rude and arrogant management. Will not be returning. Ordered a jug of water to go with the wine and meal. Bottled water turned up but then taken away. A jug of iced water then arrived, fine. I later noticed the £3.50 charge for bottled water. Minor complaint considering a £200 meal bill. I now... More

Management response:

We are sorry to read this complaint regarding a mistaken charge for a bottle of water. It should have been deducted when the bottle of water was sent back and we agree and this was our fault entirely. Sadly we were not made aware of the mistaken charge at the time or since; we would of course have gladly refunded... More

I am surprised that some reviews of Castell Deudrath are so negative. I have stayed here many times, both on business and with my wife, and have never failed to be impressed. The rooms (more like suites) are large with high end furniture and fittings, including sofas, and most, except surprisingly the Penthouse, have good views. The whole place is... More

I recently stayed at Castell Deudraeth with my husband and two children and really enjoyed it. The staff were very pleasant and the hotel felt very child friendly, which was nice. The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant both nights. Although pricey, the food is good and the ambience nice. Again, the children were made... More

I booked a couple of nights at Castell Deudraeth for my partner's birthday in March. I did a lot of research before-hand looking at descriptions and photos on the website and was impressed to see that all the rooms had whirlpool baths, something we particularly wanted. As you could not book online with a debit card I phoned the hotel... More

I recently bought a 2 night break on KGB. We were allocated a wonderful room - or should I say suite - in room Castle 5. A decanter of sherry, bottles of water awaited us - replenished the next day. We had a living flame gas fire, leather settee and chairs, a jacuzzi bath, l'occitane toiletries, slippers. The food was... More

We loved the Penthouse Suite at the Castell so much last year that we just had to come back again this winter. We were warmly greeted at reception by Carys & Laura & asked if we wanted help with our bags, I declined as I just wanted to get installed, the fire lit & a cup of tea. There had... More
