We stayed in the Penthouse, it was gorgeous. Comfy bed Lovely terrace - I like that you can see the view through the little arrow slits Afternoon tea was good though kitchen staff take note: don't put vanilla in the cream to go on the scones - not needed. The champagne we asked for in the room in the afternoon... More

I first stayed at the Castle in 2004 at Christmas time following my wedding, and we had the best time, partying with all the staff and locals on New Years Eve! Since then we have been back four times, with the most recent stay In August this year. We have tried numerous rooms from The Penthouse down and I must... More

stayed here for 2 nights for my brothers wedding. First time in Portmeirion and totally blown away by the whole place. We had a large family suite with 3 rooms, excellent standards, superb bathroom, free mineral water and sherry (?!) in the room...superb service, amazing food, just perfect.

We stayed at the Here instead of the village as we wanted a quiet retreat and knew that the Castell only had 11 rooms. We weren't disappointed. We booked the penthouse, which is huge, has its own lounge and kitchen ( although this could be stocked a little better) great bed, nice fire, and comfortable seating. Outside space was good... More

We stayed in the hotel for two nights for my sons wedding. Never having been to Portmeirion, I was amazed at what a unique settlement it is, set in amazing grounds. The outside of the castell itself is interesting if not particularly attractive but the interior with its mock finishes is really atmospheric and the conservatory restaurant area, with views... More

We spent our second night in the village at the Castell. Having spent our first night at the Peacock Suite in the Portmeiron we thought our second night statism at the Castell might be a bit of a let down. Far from it. We loved it. This is a much smaller hotel and far quieter with gorgeous grounds. Firstly the... More

My family and I stayed for 2 nights in the pent house. While the location is amazing. Firstly the pent house is in need of a make over cheap furniture is not a good look for a hotel of this standard. On arrival we checked in but where not shown to our room. We ordered room service ( for breakfast)... More

Stayed in one of the suites was just like being at home with kitchen, lounge and on suite room. Was very private and left alone unless assistance was asked for. The ambiance of the restaurant and public areas of the building very homely. Food in the restaurant good and plenty to do round and about.

Fantastic Hotel just outside the main village (about a ten minute walk or minibus ride). Really lovely rooms plenty of space, great service, nice food. It's good to be out of the village but some may prefer to be in it.

Ate in the Castell restaurant last evening. The food is without doubt lovely exceptionally well prepared and presented but the service lets it down. Our wine did not arrive until after the starters and the table staff little difficult to attract. Overall happy with the meal but wouldn't rush back. They benfit from captive market in Portmerion guest and maybe... More
