This Disney-looking castle at the entrance to Port Meirion certainly looks the part from outside. And, indeed, we had a wonderful Sunday lunch of Welsh lamb inside. But the restaurant looked as if it took its inspiration from a department store cafeteria. No atmosphere at all, despite a wonderfully-manicured garden to gaze out on. And the Sunday lunch was a great... More

We had a gorgeous suite - a lovely living room with a fireplace, flat screen tv, comfy sofa and a table and chairs to sit and look out at the views. We also had a kitchenette hidden away in what looks like a walk-in-closet with a fridge to keep your wine cool. A huge very comfy bed in a beautiful... More

This is an excellent hotel, in a stunning location. The rooms are spacious, modern and very comfortable. They are equipped with a mini kitchen, with a mini bar, and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also complimentary mineral water and sherry. The suites have a separate lounge, two televisions and a blue-ray player. The bathrooms are also spacious and... More

We visited Portmeirion village in the late afternoon and treated ourselves to a fancy dinner in the Castell Deudraeth. The panoramic view from the resturant is wonderful and the resturant felt nice and roomy. The starters and main courses were both excellent. Unfortunately the evening was spoiled for me by the seating of other guests in close proximity either side... More

Now some may feel that title is a bit mean, but if the Castell is Beckenbauer, then the Hotel is Pele (or the Castell is Eddie Bishop whilst the Hotel is Kenny Irons - it's a Tranmere thing). This was our second visit to the village for a winter stay, and I hope it's something we can do for many... More

Stayed for 2 nights on DBB in the Penthouse Suite as a birthday treat from my partner. As part of the Portmeirion Estate, this was the main reason for the visit. The penthouse suite is large and contemporary (do not expect an antique style room) with an oversized bed, great bathroom and lounge area. You have the whole floor to... More

We having been visiting Portmeririon now for almost 30 years and it never fails to impress. We have stayed in the hotel and the cottage suites but for the last 4 visits we have stayed at Castell Deudraeth. The service, food, facilities and ambience of the place is beyond compare. The standard is extremely high and we have never been... More

WOW!! not often i say that, but the grandeur of the castle at night, teamed with location and appearance on arrival made fiance birthday an amazing treat, very upmarket, elegantly designed and the menu shockingly i found cheap..well for us anyway. staff had impeccable serving manners, polite, portions were perfect size (very filling) we only used the restaurant so cant... We took advantage of the January blues offer which enabled us to stay in the penthouse. It would have been way too overpriced in high season for what it actually was. Having said that if money is no object this is the way to go. The room was lovely with a fire right in the middle which we enjoyed curling... More
