We only live in Aberdovey, about half an hours drive from Penmaenuchaf and decided to take my wife for an afternoon tea, I decided on penmaenuchaf as I thought we would have a good service. We are well travelled and know a good service when we get one. From When we arrived to when we left we had nothing but... More

This hotel is a beautiful property in a stunning location. We had a comfortable bedroom, found the staff to be very friendly, and enjoyed superb dinners and breakfast, a real treat. Would definitely return.

We are regular visitors to North Wales and stayed here for two nights. The hotel was lovely our room was delightful and the food great unfortunelty the experience was let down by poor service we did not feel welcome apart from the young lady with a big smile that served us at breakfast if the older members of staff were... After a wonderful drive through Snowdonia, we arrived at what can only be discribed as a jewel hidden in wonderful grounds.Very well equipped bedrooms with everything you could need. Recently stayed here for 2 nights very nice place genuine country house hotel feel, been to few welsh rarebits hotel before I would say it deserved its place on list of Welsh Rarebits. We had great time taking pictures and we enjoyed wondering around even the weather wasn't so good but we manage to wonder. We love inside and out... More

Well where do I start? Awful room, broken toilet seat that from comments on here has been broken since last year! Decor was awful, far too many family photos, money grabbing techniques used at every opportunity. Woe betide if you were laughing and enjoying the company of your partner as you would be glared at nastily by staff. Owner supremely... More

Absolutely loved this hotel!! The owners have kept the hotel in classic decor with great ambience, it was like stepping back into the period of when the rich enjoyed the splendour and decadence of their home, some wonderful features have been kept. The gardens and surrounding area are wonderful and luscious trees, shrubs and plants make it a very relaxing... More

Difficult getting our booking sorted out to start with. We had a voucher from kgb deals and confusion arose over room availability. Once we arrived we were warmly greeted and shown around. The hotel is lovely and very comfortable with well kept gardens. We enjoyed a pleasant afternoon tea and evening meal. My only complaint was that I was served a... More

Stayed in the Reynold Williams room (not sure of its number, I’m not sure any of the rooms here have numbers!), and it’s delightful. Very spacious and the first room we’ve ever enjoyed in a hotel with a coffee table as large as our own. Everything you could want including a balcony with sumptuous (if not breathtaking) views. Lovely restaurant... More

We booked this hotel for 2 nights on a promotion at short notice. We were very pleasantly surprised by the hotel and its grounds. It really is a lovely location. Our room (Pryce) had everything we needed (a small defect we reported was rectified post haste). All the food, arrival "sparkling welsh tea", canapés, market menu dinner and breakfasts were... More
