We stayed here on a 2 night deal, which included evening meal on one night and afternoon tea on the day of arrival. The hotel was beautiful with lovely public rooms. We ate from the market menu on both nights. Although there was not a lot of choice, the food was good quality and tasty. The service was excellent. The... More

The hotel Is approached by a long winding drive. It is surrounded by lovely gardens which provide for a nice walk. The outside of the hotel is a pre- curser to what is found inside. It is beautifully furnished throughout. In total the hotel can fully claim to be a true Country House Hotel. Others we have stayed at around... More

Sitting high above the dreamy Mawddach estuary, Penmaenuchaf Hall, is a stunning country house. Unfortunately the views to the estuary are obscured by the large treed property, but the house itself is very pretty in its own right. The highlights are the public rooms, which are numerous, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The food served in the large conservatory is very... More

I didn't even want to go IN the hotel when we first arrived, I just wanted to trot around the outside and into the gardens and forest as it has the most enchanting setting. The house itself is also wonderful, beautifully presented. The restaurant and service (from menus with complimentary starters in the lounge) were top class. My only regret... More

Lovely location, relatively easy to find, beautiful building with many original features and gardens. Service was excellent, the staff are very welcoming & eager to please. We ate in the restaurant just one night, we chose the set menu & this was excellent, a very enjoyable stay overall.

Beautiful location. Very tasteful public rooms and well tended gardens. Bedroom rather small as we stayed in the one and only 'dog-friendly' room so no other choice. We chose an overnight package that included afternoon tea, 3 course house menu and full breakfast - good value and the food was excellent.

Firstly we stayed in a junior suite so would expect very good service - Over £600 3 nights. Within 10 minutes of arrival we went into lounge for coffee. The look of disgust on the part owners (Man) face for being asked to do something. He then made a great fuss and said it would be 20 minutes. Eventually got... More

In all honesty I was expecting to stat in a place that had passed it's best. We booked a one night stay inclusive of Evening meal and cream tea upon arrival. Two people with our pet dog. I was blown away by the venue, Staff were excellent courteous and efficient. Room was lovely with a large balcony ideal for us... More

We visited this wonderful hotel to celebrate my 65th birthday -what a treat it was -the room we stayed in -Leigh Taylor was totally country house luxury. Our dinners (we stayed 2 nights) where superb -my wife and I are self confirmed foodies and know our stuff - The wine list was out of this world. If you are looking... More

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2015

My husband and I stayed at Penmaenuchaf Hall for 2 nights Saturday 20 to Monday 22 July. The hotel is wonderful, every attention to detail catered for. Room spectacular, large and comfy. Only one complaint - breakfast on last morning was a huge disappointment. Burned sausages and hard poached eggs. No way was this not seen by chef or waiting... More
