Been reading the previous reviews with much amusement. Perhaps the customer who found the owner 'arrogant" had,nt been very polite on the first place, he's always seemed harmless enough to me! We dined last Tuesday. The house was warm and welcoming, huge log fires blazing. Beautifully decorated, both owners stopped to chat and the waitresses were friendly and helpful as... More

This is a lovely hotel, with beautiful reception rooms. The impression is good on arrival. We were celebrating a birthday with friends. The warm welcome was not forthcoming. We ate in the conservatory which on a dank November was just about warm. There was strange 'mood' music playing. The food was very good and well prepared, but the portions so... More

Lovely room and bathroom, slept really well in a comfortable bed. Had most of the facilities we wanted. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic and the service was brilliant. However, we had a really noisy radiator in our room that made a horrendous banging noise if it was on at all. We left it off but were quite chilly and there... More

We only live in Aberdovey, about half an hours drive from Penmaenuchaf and decided to take my wife for an afternoon tea, I decided on penmaenuchaf as I thought we would have a good service. We are well travelled and know a good service when we get one. From When we arrived to when we left we had nothing but... More

This hotel is a beautiful property in a stunning location. We had a comfortable bedroom, found the staff to be very friendly, and enjoyed superb dinners and breakfast, a real treat. Would definitely return.

We are regular visitors to North Wales and stayed here for two nights. The hotel was lovely our room was delightful and the food great unfortunelty the experience was let down by poor service we did not feel welcome apart from the young lady with a big smile that served us at breakfast if the older members of staff were... Well where do I start? Awful room, broken toilet seat that from comments on here has been broken since last year! Decor was awful, far too many family photos, money grabbing techniques used at every opportunity. Woe betide if you were laughing and enjoying the company of your partner as you would be glared at nastily by staff. Owner supremely... More

Absolutely loved this hotel!! The owners have kept the hotel in classic decor with great ambience, it was like stepping back into the period of when the rich enjoyed the splendour and decadence of their home, some wonderful features have been kept. The gardens and surrounding area are wonderful and luscious trees, shrubs and plants make it a very relaxing... More
