We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House and were very surprised to hear some negative reviews! Richard and his mother were lovely, recommending a nice walk and places to eat. Breakfast was delicious, just the thing to set you up for a busy day. The Coach House is great value for money and we would definitely return.

I can't believe the other reviews for this hotel! We booked it because of the good reviews on Trip Advisor- not sure if I will ever trust it again!! I agree that Richard and his mother were most welcoming but having to access the room via the outside metal fire escape staircase and through a fire door was a hazard.... More

First review ever written for accommodation as most are just ok but the coach house deserves a full 5 stars all round. Richard the owner was very welcoming and pleasant he took the time out to show me where the better pubs in the area are and even rang round them to see if any live music was going on,... More

We stayed at the Coach House with friends to share a few days walking in the Wye Valley. Sadly, the hotel is very run down and the rooms are very grubby. Richard and his mother are very nice people, helpful and attentive - but there was s clearly a problem with running the hotel. We complained about the dirty net... More

We stayed for one night at the Coach House Inn and couldn't have picked a better place. We were party of a group walking the Offas Dyke path and were very tired and achy on arrival. Richard was very welcoming (even though he was stressed after a family emergency) and took time to show us around the property and room... More

We stayed here for one night on a Saturday as we were attending a wedding in Caer LLan (see separate review). The Coach House is a quaint little B & B with a lovely courtyard which I was told is a suntrap. We didn't have much time to enjoy this however, as we had to get changed and off to... More

4 of us stayed here in August 2014 whilst playing golf in the area. Richard, the owner, was very helpful. The rooms were fine and breakfast was absolutely superb. It is very close to everything in the town and the only drawback is that there is no parking - however there is parking nearby. Richard also arranged a superb deal... More

This is the second time that myself and my wife have stayed at the Coach house, we stayed 2 nights early July arriving late in the evening having arranged to meet the owner RIchard who showed us to our spacious and clean room. The Coach house is situated in the centre of Monmouth with the only draw back is that... More

Stayed here recently and I would say it is the dirtiest place I have ever stayed. The dust in the bedroom was beyond belief the skirting boards were filthy there was a dresser that was covered in dust, the pictures in the room were also caked in dust and there was a tubular bandage hanging from the back of the... We must have caught the owner, Richard, on a bad day when we tried to get accommodation at the Coach House Inn on Monday night after an exhausting 23-mile hike. His father was welcoming but was unsure whether there was a room available so we waited patiently in the courtyard for Richard to arrive. When he did, his response to... More
