Booked a two bedroom cottage as we had relatives joining us. On arrival, our hostess told us that the cottage we had originally been allocated was suffering from the result of a rather large bbq just outside the night before so still smelled of smoke and she kindly offered us an alternative, having made this up just in case. Mole... More

I am sure this will get a reply, but its good to be honest and forewarn fellow travellers. The cottages are well kept and well renovated and a great place generally and fine for the time I stayed for - if just rating the property it would be a good however what lets this accommodation down is the making you... We stayed at Steepes Farm on 28/2/15 . We Stayed in Mole End which was absolutely immaculate, The Whole Complex is very well tended and clean. The owners have thought of everything, even down to supplying coffee and tea. The Breakfast delivered to our cottage was great. We went for a meal in the Stonemill restaurant on the evening and they... More

Having just spent Christmas week at Dovecote cottage all I can say is WONDERFUL! Perfect setting for a perfect little gem of a cottage. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, beams, a log burner plus very friendly helpful owners. . . all in a secure, beautiful courtyard setting. What more could one want? I loved it and will definitely be returning.... More

My other half (Mart), and I stayed in Wood Cottage at Steppes for the August Bank Holiday 2014. There is no other way to put this: the place is STUNNING! We took the cottage for a week on a self catering basis, and were very surprised to find this included bath towels, tea towels, 2 x toilet rolls, and tea,... More

Just to warn you if you plan to stay here - make sure you remember to bring all toiletries as none are provided complimentary (not even hand soap) which is unusual in this accommodation price range. Also you will need plenty of pound coins to feed the thirsty electricity meter which again is very unusual, more than happy to pay... More

Who on Earth would go away without taking their own toiletries? It's 2014! It is our experience that people visiting accommodation in "this price range" prefer their own toiletries as opposed to something generic. Perhaps we should also hark back to the days of crisp, rough toilet paper too! Electric meters are commonplace in accommodation establishments, in keeping with Welsh... More

We booked a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast stay and thoroughly enjoyed the B&B experience. Warm welcome, showed the reserved parking and toured the cottage. Well furnished, comfortable and warm. Milk, tea, orange juice, cereals, coffee and milk all present and full breakfast delivered to the cottage at an agreed time in the morning. Excellent nights sleep in this quite and... More

I could not believe that on arrival after paying £290.00 for 2 nights for four of us, that we had to feed a pound meter for electric! The first floor flat was freezing cold, but we was given a basket of wood which warmed us a little until we went to the bedrooms. We asked if we could have some... More

An interesting review. Sadly, as is often the case with reviews, it is a tad one sided and conveniently omits key elements regarding the visit. The cottage was initially booked through bookings.com for a maximum of 5 people for 2 nights on a self-catering basis only. This works out at £29.00 per person, per night for accommodation in a 4... I have been interested to read some other reviews since returning from a weekend at Steppes Farm and have to concur that this is a nice place in a lovely location, but so let down by mean-spiritedness and the owners attitudes. From time to time on holiday travels, one comes across people so unsuited to the hospitality industry with no... More

We welcome fair criticism of our business as no business can be perfect and keep everyone happy. However, as is often the case, there are two sides to every story. Our terms dictate that our cottages need to be vacated by 10.00 for a reason. That being for us to prepare them for our next guests. This is made very clear... More

Our stay at Steppes Farm Cottages has been absolutely perfect. Peter and Rita have been so helpful and wonderful and our children have thoroughly enjoyed playing in the huge garden on the swings and in the trees. It is the most welcoming, immaculate and relaxing place I have ever stayed in and will most definitely be back. I would highly... More
