Had higher expectations of this Wetherspoons hotel. On arrival by car took us a while to sort out parking and eventually found free parking at bottom of main street (over bridge turn right) and also one for just £3.50 for 24 hours. A bit of a walk back to hotel but good exercise. On arrival at hotel, friendly receptionist welcomed... More

Didn't have high expectations for this place but was surprised on arrival how nice it was. Staff are good as stayed for a wedding and although check in wasn't until 2 they allowed us in at 12.30pm. Our double room was really big had a comfy double and a sofa in our room, bathroom was ok there was parts that... More

Hotel centrally located. Rooms are next door to the Wetherspoon's Pub - cheap beer and food - busy Hotel room was dusty - toilet roll holders caked in dust inside, dust between carpets and skirting boards. Bed was terribly soft and needed replacing, bathroom was basic but functional, no breakfast - had to go next door to the pub -... More

Had an overnight in Monmouth recently, booked Kings Head on-line, arrived too late to make other arrangements. If I had not been so tired after a long drive, I would have walked out and gone elsewhere......What it didn't have was PARKING, WIFI, RECEPTIONIST or MANAGER had to fight my way through a late night Wetherspoons pub in order to check... We went to look at a couple of rooms here, they were so depressing we didn't stay. The twin made me feel claustrophobic and the double overlooked air conditioners at back on the roof. the whole place needs a thorough refurb. So we declined and stayed at The Punch House over the road, I am so glad we did.

A great hotel, must be the gem of Weatherspoons. Pleasant single room facing Agincourt Square. A lovely room with new shower room on top floor.. Tea and coffee making facilities, and modern flat screen TV. Excellent food served from about 7.00am. Special thanks to Amanda and Craig for their help at reception. Great shops adjacent, and museums and historical sites... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014 via mobile

We spent two nights here in early August. It is right in centre of town, room was clean and comfortable and service was friendly. Shower was good and towels and toiletries were also good. The huge pub downstairs was very pleasant with lots of different areas. We paid £35 for a double on Sunday night and more, £59, on a... More
