I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. Next to the Shire Hall at the top of the town the King's Head always has a lovely floral display and looks like a real old fashioned pub. Course it's a Weatherspoon's now but coming from Australia it has that "old world" feel about it which is so appealing. The hotel... More

We stopped off here on a very wet Friday for a pit stop. It is a grand building and well worth a visit. It has a couple of indoor separate rooms and a garden at the rear (a real sun trap when I returned the next day) It is as usual with Weatherspoon's very clean drinks excellent, and food delivered... We went for breakfast on a dreary Monday morning . We were cheered up right away. The breakfasts were great. Especially the pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. We had 2 mugs of Good coffee. The staff are very friendly and work hard. The special offer of lemon drizzle cake for 99p. Yes 99p looked delicious. The other offer was a... More

First time in a wethspoons hotel, and was surprised how central it was, right in the middle of the town. No car park but one just around the corner. Check in was easy but no box to drop the keys off, so just left them on desk. Everything that was needed was there could do with a spruce up as... More

£69 for a room that comfortable slept my family of five and just over £6 for a decent curry with all trimmings and a pint of beer. The service took a little while as it was busy, but can't grumble at these prices

My wife and I have stayed here several times. It's ideally sited in the centre of Monmouth.. Staff, particularly Craig and Manager Bev are most helpful. The place is not without its faults however. The lighting in the bedrooms is abysmal with only 18 watt bulbs making it impossible to read. We were woken about 6.30am one morning with very... More

Excellent value. Spacious comfortable double room. Nice friendly atmosphere. A little noisy when some people left the pub late one night. Breakfast could be improved. Very convenient for a visit to Monmouth and the Forest of Dean.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback regarding your stay here at the Kings Head Monmouth. It can sometimes be a little bit noisy at closing time with the pub being directly under the hotel. Perhaps if you stay again, you can phone and ask for one of our rooms at the back of the hotel as... More

Stayed here this weekend for a Friend's wedding. Room was clean and comfortable which is all you want when you only need the room at night. The only complaint I have is the signage could be better for the rooms as it gets a bit confusing trying to find your room from reception.

After a previous negative review regarding an unadvertised kitchen closure we are pleased to report that all is back to normal. Very enjoyable Saturday evening meal with good food good service and great atmosphere. Will definitely call again and are planning a trip there with our grandchildren.
