I always try and find an alternative to the Premier Inn/Travel Lodge option when staying away and the Stables fitted the bill 100%. Out of town, plenty of easily accessible parking, peaceful and quiet. Mandy and her staff were friendly and welcoming; nothing was too much trouble and it's refreshing to find a team that have a genuine interest in... More

The food here is beautiful, we were served welsh lamb and you could taste the quality. We all had large portions and there was a good choice of foods on the carvery. The service is informal and friendly and you are made to feel very much at home. We loved the character of the building and the surroundings are lovely.... More

Don't know where to start! Thought we would try the carvery for sunday lunch, didn't even bother trying it!! Hardly no drinks available! Guiness pump was empty, lager full of gas and way too frothy and bitter totally flat and cloudy! No soda water either! Didnt leave us with much choice! Told to take a seat until our table was... We thought we would try Sunday Lunch as this was advertised on the road. The restaurant itself had character and the initial greeting was welcoming. The problem we were informed we would need to wait half and hour, but we waited for one hour. Then we were told the carvery was just getting ready, but is was clear there was... More

We'd never stayed in this part of Wales before so it really was pot-luck that we picked the Stables. We were attending a wedding nearby the next day so we arrived late after a 400 mile journey. Everyone couldn't have been nicer to us. The room was good-sized and very clean and the breakfasts excellent. (We chose full English just... More

My sister and I have just come home from settling my niece in at Uni at Bangor University. To cut a long story short we fell across this place out of desperation really. We had left it till the last minute to get her there for Freshers week. So, I emailed and asked if it were possible for the three... More
