A fine example of a house lovingly restored by current owners. Full of Victorian period charm - including superb reception rooms and dining room. Sweeping stair case to die for! Every aspect of service was diligently and pleasantly observed. Views across unspoilt mountaineous landscape are breathtaking. Food and rooms excellent! Thoroughly recommended if you want a quiet, relaxing and luxurious... more

Disgusted!!! I booked this hotel and receivied confirmation via e mail. Everything was fine until I mentioned we were attending a wedding party and would be out until around midnight. I was then told they could not accept this booking. The other reviews are correct - dont do it!!! Now I'm attending a wedding and have nowhere to stay! more

A booking request for a Saturday night in July was received via our on-line booking system which we turned down. Before someone books a room on-line our terms and conditions must be agreed to. On each bedroom selection page it clearly states that we do not accept bookings for a Saturday night (one night) only except by prior arrangement and...

Having only just discovered this site, I apologise for writing a review following a visit 18 months ago, however as the hotel was so outstanding in our minds, we hope this will be acceptable. It was our second visit to the hotel for 5 nights, and in every respect was just as good as the first a year or so... more

This Hotel, is an example for others of it's ilk to emulate. Saul and his charming wife Judith run their hotel as an extension of their home, and treat guests as if they were friends who had decided to stay for a few days. The place is immaculately furnished and spotlessly clean. The food is superb and the staff polite... more

We arrived and had some reservations after reading the comments of others. It is a most impressive stately building in a very beautiful setting. The "small double" room we had booked was as large as most "chain" double hotels and had a superb bathroom and very comfortable bed. Dinner (we stayed three nights and had dinner on two) was good.... more

We stayed here for 2 nights over the Easter weekend and paid £85 each for dinner bed/breakfast per night. This was the cheapest room with no jacuzzi and no view. We booked this directly with Pale Hall having seen this advertised in a brochure my boss picked up from the Tourist Information in Wales. The building itself, is by far... more

We stayed in the Carmethan room for one night with breakfast and dinner included. The owner was helpful, and the hotel is gorgeous. It was absolutely spotless there, not a spec of dust anywhere! The room was beautiful, nice touches such as the fresh fruit, mineral water, dish of boiled sweeties and an excellent choice of in-room hot drinks that... more

I have read all the reviews here and cant understand why people have had trouble with the owners of this place. I turned up in my $14 Wranglers and a printed tee shirt and was made very welcome.Admittedly i did change into chinos and a polo shirt for dinner, but next morning breakfast was jeans and tee shirt again. All the... more

Having looked forward to the weekend greatly, attending a dear friend's wedding celebrations in nearby Llandrillo, Pale Hall seemed an ideal venue to have a luxurious hotel weekend with my wife. Indeed, the website does not sell this fabulous hotel short - a stunning building with impressive facade, set in beautifully manicured grounds. Our room (11) was a very impressive... more

In response to the comments made in the last two reviews written by the same couple, all information was provided before confirming the booking and again in the confirmation letter, which has been acknowledged by the authors. We do lock the front doors at 11pm with arrangements made for later arrival within reason, as we do not have a night...

Before I begin, I don’t usually write reviews and when I do they’re always good reviews. Despite this our recent stay at Pale Hall has incensed me to share what was a really disappointing experience in the hope that others won't make the same mistake as we did. Pale Hall is a fabulous hotel in a breathtaking position. The rooms... more
