My family and I rang this pub last Sunday to see if we could get in for Mother's Day and were pleasantly surprised that they could at such short notice, but also worried that this meant it wasn't going to be good - we were wrong! We picked this pub as it's in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and the... More

My husband and I stayed a night here during a fly fishing trip on Bala Lake and surrounding streams. Martin and Linda (and even Screwfix) were absolutely lovely. The location was excellent with beautiful views. The food in the pub was nothing short of delicious and we had a lovely time drinking pints with some locals. I would definitely recommend... More

Armed with a photo taken circa 1957, I revisited the Bryntirion Inn, Llandderfel. Received a warm welcome from Martin, Linda (and a real log fire) and enjoyed a splendid soup and sandwich lunch. Freshly prepared, the meal was very tasty, followed by a cafetiere of coffee and mints. Martin and Linda were very forthcoming in sharing photos and history of... More

We didn't stay here but met up with family as we do before Christmas. Really friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the bar area. Meal was lovely and all 5 of us enjoyed it. It is also dog friendly as a lot of pubs are in Wales. Will definately go there again. We didn't stay in the hotel part, just met... More

We were staying locally to celebrate my husband's 70th Birthday - a large party of 8 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs. Our accommodation was self catering but we booked Sunday lunch at the Bryntirion where we were made very welcome and where they allowed our 2 dogs to join us. We had one of the dining rooms to ourselves... More

We stopped here for something to eat. We were told we could eat in bar area or a quiet lounge we chose the lounge. The menu was very good. We all chose the Bryn Bara. Steak & mushrooms in ale tucked into bread (see picture) a choice of potatoes or chip with vegetables. It was heavenly but unfortunately to big... More

Busy little place this, staying locally and popped in a couple of times after days out - always a buzz in here. Very friendly host and plenty of seating - small bar area and larger restaurant. Such a shame the scone was 'micro-waved warm' and the cream was the 'squirty' sort! Wouldn't have the 'cream tea' again, but would return... More

My friend and I were passing through this area following a days climbing and tried to get dinner in the Hotel 2 mins up the road. The Hotel wouldn't seat us but recommended the Bryntirion Inn. We were so glad that they did. The barman offered us samples of the local beer before we chose a couple of pints. We... More

stopped off here for one night whilst touring North Wales and the owners kindly let us stay in our campervan in their car park. We had a lovely meal and the Purple Moose Snowdonia Ale was top notch. Very friendly owner and locals made us and our dog feel welcomed. Many thanks for letting us stay. Will be on our... More

Our third visit to the Bryn, it has retained its convivial atmosphere, hearty food and understated decor. It feels, above all, comfortable (we were welcomed, in person and in earnest, by the landlady, in spite of the pouring rain). There's nothing remarkable, but that's kind of its charm. They clearly know what works for them and they proffer it with... More
