The Moelwyn was the hotel we chose for a recent birthday party. What a great choice! The staff went to great lengths to offer us the best evening, serving delicious food in such a friendly manner. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we appreciated their help in making this a very special evening for all. Some of our... More

A little gem of a restaurant. We were so well looked after by the lovely friendly staff and the food was really outstanding. The lamb gravy was addictive! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening all round.

This was my first visit to Criccieth and the place is lovely. Not a tourist type of place. No buckets or spades for sale. The view from the castle is stunning. The Moelwyn is a very friendly place with amazing food. It is not a budget place to stay but it is worth the extra. It is very comfy and if... More

We have stayed here three times in the last few years but for this visit to Criccieth we stayed at a guest house in the town. The food at the Moelwyn has always been very good and we dined there one night .No complaints re-the food but found the m.aln waitress was not very sociable, particulary when her answer to whether she... We have stayed here several times over the years and the staff are always friendly and welcoming especially Annie who served and sometimes cooked breakfast. The food is always great although I could have managed more than one potato with my dinner. We have stayed in three different bedrooms and although the rooms are clean and adequate they have not... The Moelwyn had been recommended to us, so we tried it, mid week, with our three year old in tow. The owners were super friendly, welcoming and very professional. Nothing was too much trouble and they were great with our noisy, chatty three year old! The food was amazing, from the bread selection starter to the crackling on the pork... More

Great choice of food menu, great quality, presentation was very good. Had fish and it was cooked very nice. Staff also efficient and courteous. Quite a nice atmosphere, worth a visit with nice views over Criccieth bay. Price reasonable for quality provided.

Venue to die for , location to die for , views to die for but probably the most unwelcoming , inhospitable place I've ever ever visited . I am well travelled , I love dinning out and also I'm Welsh . Absolute disgrace ! Probably why Dylan's is full and this place like a morgue.

This review is about the restaurant only. We were looking for a seafood restaurant and were advised to try this one, a great mistake. We ordered a seafood meal, the starters were Mussels which were excellent, for the main we ordered a whole lobster each, when they came there was something odd about the meal but I couldn't put my... We stayed at the Moelwyn Hotel the night before my daughters wedding at a nearby (and much more upmarket) venue. We’d booked here as we’d driven from the other side of the country and just wanted to relax before the big event, but for once I hadn’t researched in detail as it was only for the one night. To say... More
