have stayed here 4 times and love it.I like the location and the Moelwyn itself.Staff are friendly and the food is good.Parking can be a problem at busy times but I always seem to get a space near .The breakfast is good and the view from the restaurant is great. There are only 6 rooms so it makes fora personal touch.

Stayed here with a friend for three nights at the end of July as had come to Criccieth to see my parents and brother's family who had rented a nearby house for a week. First impressions were poor with the ripped canopy at the entrance to the hotel, and this continued once we had checked in. The toilet in the... More

Stayed on a Friday night in July. Had not booked in advance and arrived around 5.30pm. Given the choice of 2 rooms that were available. Picked room 3. Lovely sea view, tea and coffee in the room, plus lovely homemade biscuits. Bed very comfortable, bathroom adequate. Ate at dinner there, but was rather annoyed that the white wine we ordered... Stopped over just one night with a friend at the start of last week and have already recommended the place to several others all planning to follow in our footsteps and make the 3 hr trek on scenic clear roads to tranquil Criccieth and The Moelwyn's ideallic sedate setting. The Moelwyn's location is simply superb. With ample free parking just... More

Comfortable room with 4 poster bed overlooking the sea (room 2). Breakfast was average and served from 8 till 9.30 but worth booking for dinner there as the standard is excellent. I had a whole lemon sole which was on the specials board and really enjoyed it. There is a small bar/lounge adjacent to the restaurant and a couple of... More

We had lunch in The Moelwyn on the 3rd Saturday in May. The meal was exceptional, as was the service! We have been more than satisfied customers since the current proprietor took over. We regularly dine here at weekends and for for birthdays and anniversary's, In our estimation the views from The Moelwyn, quality and cooking of food, the service... More

We spent 5 days at the Moelwyn as we explored that region of Wales. The room faced the bay and if I squinted just enough I could make out Harlech castle on the other side. Even though 4 out of 5 days was overcast or raining the view was still inspiring and going to sleep to the sounds of waves... More
