Just perfect for my requirements on this particular occasion, a one night stay in Cricieth. Simple, fast check in/check out, had everything I needed in my room, good value for money, excellent breakfast.

Stayed here for three nights. Spacious, clean, good facilities, good food, parking. Great location by the coast. We used as a base for touring Snowdonia. Would definitely stay here again and recommend others stay too.

We stayed for two nights in January. The room was comfortable and the furnishings in keeping with such an old building. Tea/coffee making facilities and a nice cooked breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly. The only down sides for us were that the room was very cold despite us bleeding the radiator twice (the heating goes off at 10pm and... More

The Lion is a very pleasant, well located hotel and although the time of year and the weather meant that it was fairly quiet at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very enjoyable (although they did close the kitchen earlier than advertised, so I was prompted to order my food or miss out.) My... More

We had stayed here in this family run hotel 45 years ago on the first night of our honeymoon. The fact that it is still going strong is testament to its warmth and friendliness.Don't stay here if you are looking for bland uniformity, it's a quirky hotel which is clean, comfortable and provides good food for its residents. We had a room... We have just returned from a weekend at The Lion Hotel ( 30th/31st January 2016 ) and even though yes it is an old Hotel the bedlinen and bathroom were spotless. All the staff were so friendly from checking in to checking out. We ate dinner in the Hotel which was delicious and even though it was a busy Saturday... More

Very friendly when first enquiring, given a price and booked, 15 minutes later received a second e-mail stating they had over charged us, ten pound less for us to pay, very honest, wouldn't of known any different. Very friendly staff, room great for a family of four, only minor complaint, radiators never got that warm. Great location, walk in to... More

A 3 night stay in the lion was just the ticket if you want an early night after a long days work.Food was really good .Room a bit small for a family room although spotless .Bar shut at 10.30. So no late night noise. Lovely place would visit this hotel again.

Booked through a Groupon deal. Just glad never paid full price. Hotel is grubby and dirty throughout. From the room which looked as though hadn't been cleaned for months. Dust over everything, dirty linen, poor bathroom cleanliness. To extent mad me feel sick. Toilet was used and uncleaned as was the toilet brush. Disgusting. The room was generally grubby and... Thank you for taking the time to review the lion, I agree our staff are very friendly. With regards to your room I do apologise, this is unacceptable, may I ask if you brought this matter to reception at the time of your stay, If you had this would have been resolved immediately. I can assure that all breakfast items... More
