A taste of luxury - and and eye for every little detail. Also - for us foreigners, a feeling of a grand English home, in an historic setting. We had a wonderful stay and a great 2-nights' sleep in this 5* B&B. Breakfast was very good as well, with fresh croissants and local yummy sausage. The bath was a bit... More

The Old Rectory is a beautiful old house in a lovely area. The hosts attention to detail was second to none from the complimentary sherry & truffles in the bedroom to the superb locally sourced breakfast. Can't fault it.

I cannot recommend the guys highly enough. The house and grounds are beautiful, the owners are welcoming and can't do enough to help. No phone signal? - they'll phone taxis for you. Silly allergies? - they'll get soya milk in for you. No idea what to do in the area? - they'll point you in the direction of some place... More

Just spent the last two nights at the old rectory. Absolutely brilliant place to stay would recommend to anyone. Lovely house and gardens, great rooms and first class breakfast. Gary and Lindsay are very welcoming and the perfect hosts. Can't wait to go back.

Firstly, I'm not surprised this place has a #1 Trip Advisor rating for the area. What a find, a real hidden gem of a place ! The house is Georgian, historic & beautiful, the rooms are elegant, lovely, very comfortable & spacious, they have every amenity, we thought the complimentary sherry & chocs in the room were a lovely touch.... We've just spent 3 nights at The Old Rectory and would thoroughly recommend it. Gary and Lindsay are very welcoming hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. Lindsay is full of information on places to visit and to eat and even photocopied walks from her guide books for us. Our room was lovely; very comfortable, large bed and... More

This was a very comfortable base from which to explore the area. Very friendly hosts and lovely breakfast as well. We could only sample a few of the walking routes and things to do in the few days we had, but our biggest surprise - thanks to the good summer weather - was the number & quality of good beaches....
