Really warm welcome, attentive service, food was really good, pan seared local scallops, delicious, steaks cooked to perfection, really tasty meat, a fine Dianne sauce, good cheeseboard and homemade deserts! Will definately be back, hopefully soon.

We chose to come here because it was dog friendly. We arrived at lunchtime after getting soaked in the rain; it was lovely to walk into a warm room with a blazing fire. We had a very good lunch, the starters were superb the belly draft and chilli king prawns were both delicious, followed by a good Sunday roast beef.... More

We arrived at 6.30, the bar area, which is also the dog area was busy, with all tables taken. We didn't have to wait long for a table to become free. The evening menu was quite basic, however the specials board had a great selection of Seafood. 3 of us had the Steak and Ale pie, and one the Cottage... More

My partner and I had been on the website prior to visit to check if we had to book a table, there was nothing written about booking. So after a hike one day we went in on our way home and proceeded to go to a small table that was clearing only to be abruptly approached by the landlord who... More

My partner and myself visited last week for an evening meal. I was excited to re-visit The Sun in as I had very pleasant memories of visiting with my family in the past. Unfortunately we were both very disappointed by unfriendly and unwelcoming staff. We ordered food at the bar, placing our orders with a very rude women who was... More

We arrived as a large group of family members with prior notice and were told we could not book. We arrived at 5.30 pm and the pub was not busy. We were told by the landlord that we could be served as a large family and would have to sit children with their parents and not in a group together,... More

Visited a couple of days ago to enquire about booking for our extended family. Told no reservations but to turn up at 5.30pm for first come first served. Walked a mile and half to the pub at 5.30pm to be faced with a really rude landlord who was really offensive to us in front of all the other customers saying... More

A group of 17 of us had prior to visiting booked a table stating that we didn't mind being split up. When we arrived and ordered some drinks at the bar we were rudely not asked, but told, to move out of the way by the unwelcoming landlord which we found particularly frustrating as our tables weren't even ready for... The Sun Inn is a lovely pub with great bar and waiting on staff. The Landlord lets the place down as the whole time we were there, never once saw him smile. We were shown a table to sit but it almost felt we were putting him out by wanting to eat and spend money in his pub! However, the... More
